Robin the hairy-chested red breasted robin goes to the river...

in Sketchbook4 months ago (edited)

Creativity is once again flowing back to me
or should I say 'flying' back to me?
as the red breast robin that visits me daily and inspired yesterday's writing, popped up in my head.

I am still waiting for its daily visit to my garden...

Anywho, suffice to say that the li'l birdie whispered into my creative ear ( the left one ) and told me that I needed to draw a hairy chested red breasted robin.

I first drew the ugly bird on top of the following page:

followed by the one above ( the not colored one ). The latter came to me after having looked up a picture of a robin, online.

I even cut off some of my chest hair, to see how that would look on the above birdie but the hairs were way too long. Even after cutting them in smaller pieces. So I won't share a photograph of that.

And no worries, my 'chest nest' ( I just invented that word ) still looks beautiful
;<)

I then decided to give the robin some swimming trunks that are loosely based on one of my swimming shorts ( pink and with palm trees ).

After making the thing decent, I added a background, based on the river beach(es) that I frequent several times per week, these days weeks and months.

If you look carefully and kind of keep up with my posts, you might recognize the straw umbrellas/parasols that can be seen on the side of my writing, regularly, those that inspired me to come up with the poetic and thoughtful Sombre Ombrella, a week ago.
Eat that, Rihanna!

What do you think? Looking good, right?

And here's a zoomed out version, showing the entire sketch:

Last but not least, I'll share a close up of 'Robin the hairy-chested red breast(ed robin)'.

I decided to add some cute hair, on top of its head.
It seems like robins usually keep their hair pretty slick
but things like this happen to the best of us, after swimming or bathing.

I like to call it 'wet look' ;<)

Sort:

That's exactly how I want to be looking right now after a week of rains. Hairy chest out in the open and wearing shorts in the beach, while watching a peach... that I plucked from a tree

Haha! ( about the small fonts )

So what is stopping you?
No beach around or no swimming shorst?

I do know you will beat me when it comes to the chest nest area ;<)

I can still recall the very first Robin I saw. I was 10, and it was the reddest thing I've ever seen, posing on a tree branch in our backyard. I didn't notice any chest hair though. :)

I didn't notice any chest hair though. :)

It must have been a female.

P.S. Funny enough, they are often more orange then red, if you ask me but we call them 'rood borst' in Dutch, nevertheless. Perhaps the person who named them was slightly color blind ;<)

P.S. This is me from my new main account.

Well I am happy to hear that your chest nest is still looking good x
Also that the parasols have made a come back.
