DAILY DRAWING CHALLENGE-DAY 16 (STILL LIFE)

in Sketchbook4 years ago

HI GUYS

day 16 4.jpg

Today's theme on our daily drawing challenge was centered on still life, so I decided to draw a jug, lemon, some strawberries and apples. I finished it, in a space of 30minutes.

I started with a rough sketch of the inanimate objects. I wanted to get the proportions before I move on to do anything. I used a thicker brush, because I didn't want to go into details.

Then I started shading. It was very rough and thick because of the brush size. It was mostly to indicate where light is coming from. I wished I had enough time, I would've gone into more detailed shading. Since I was going to block in values, I didn't give more thought about it.

Here, I brushed in some value in the background. It was largely grey and it's shades.

Finally, I put in a little bit of detail, and refine some highlights and shadows. I remember this thing that looks very simple, how difficult it was to me back in the days. Also, I love how unfinished it looks, and still carries the information that I want.
