On this first day of Ramadhan, I took a walk around the downtown just to see how people interpreted physical distancing. Due to the stay-home rule is not well applied here. I understand why these people are not worried about getting close to each other, just because they have to do so if they want to eat. There is a say that is always uttered by poor people in my place if don't go out, I don't eat, if I don't eat, I die. Who should be blamed on this issue?
Indeed, there is no strict rule on a stay-home or even the lockdown while the virus is still flying around. They seemingly don't care about the outbreak and the government did not take any serious action on fulfilling the need of these people. Perhaps, the lockdown was not implemented due to the incapability of the government to take care of its people.
What I might say here is, seeing these people make me questioned myself. What if bla...bla they got infected. I pray they don't. It has been usual sight during Ramadhan to see people crowded the marketplaces to buy anything they want for the fasting break.
There I came to have some snapshots of how people interacting with one another during the implementation of physical distancing. It was great to see some people who mind wearing the mask. I believe, in the next twenty days ahead, this condition will not much change. Still, we can see the crowd around this town.
I saw another side of life from this man. He went around to sell traditional toys for the children. He had to go out to feed his family.
