This time it's a multi talented young lady who is some kind of superhuman I guess, because she is an active person in so many fields. From baking to drawing to music And what not.
Not to forget she is a 4th year law student, persueing Company Secretary course.

But today I'll interview her not on any of the above fields, rather a field which is less chosen by people as the yield is set to be not that high here. That is Modelling.

Swathi has been a model for various shoots of different photographers around the city.

So let's here her take on this field with this small interview.

1.What made you attract towards modelling field?

Swathi- So my inclination towards this field started ever since I was a toddler. One of my baby pictures got featured on a magazine cover in the year 2000. Even as I was growing up I always loved getting pictures clicked and never felt camera shy whatsoever. My photographer friend, Prathviraj Shastry, always loved experimenting new photography styles and techniques while I posed for him. That way I was acquainted with the technicalities and eventually started meeting and shooting with other photographers from Mangalore.

2.What are the challenges you face as a model both while on a shoot and generally when you get your pictures?

Swathi- It was only yesterday that I was asked by someone whether the attention we get as models a nice thing. On the face of it, everything seems beautiful and put together when the picture is displayed, but the efforts that go behind it is tremendous. The strenuous hours of hair and make up session, the long hours of standing in high heels for poses and carrying heavy jewelry or outfits of different kinds causes physical strain. The constant fear of internet trolls and all the negative comments by unsupportive people has a mental effect on us. Next, coming to the aspect of the monetary prospects, I personally believe that models are underpaid or unpaid. Their work, time and effort is not valued well.

3.Make up is one of the most important elements of Modelling. Which is the longest of your make up sessions?

Swathi - This statement is not entirely true. The need for make up depends on the theme of the shoot. I've done a couple of shoots without any makeup in the past whereas a few called for some intricate and extensive make up. It's a medium to enhance the facial features and add drama to an image. The longest make up session I've experienced took almost 4 hours. The final transformation was flawless and the photographer was truly impressed as he was relieved of the complicated retouching. Personally, even though I have attended make up workshops in the past and enjoy watching make up videos, I'm truly not fond of applying products on a regular basis.

4.Which is your favorite picture of you. That you cherish the most among all your pictures till date?

Swathi- Haha this one is really difficult to answer. I have several pictures that I absolutely love of myself. Every time I do a shoot the list just gets extended. But if I were to mention a specific picture then it'll definitely be the ones from the shoot done with my mentor, Pritham Denzil D'Souza, popularly known as The Metal Farmer. The South Indian bridal look ones are extremely close to my heart.

5.Lastly, tell me what makes a person a successful model?

Swathi - In my opinion, the personality of a person speaks beyond words and constant self development is essential to improve one's personality. As a model/influencer one must not only focus on their exterior features but work more on their inherent character. One's humility towards their colleagues and honesty towards their work will definitely take them a long way in life. This perhaps is not restricted to the modeling industry but just applies generally. If I were to advice someone, I'd simply say WORK HARD and give your ultimate best in every little thing that you do.
