Something I don't think many are aware of and a discussion about a viewcounter recently sparked my interest to look into it since I don't really post that often lately to think about checking, is that @peakd offers pageview analytics of your account. That means that only you can check your pageviews, I can't go and check someone elses, so I figured if people would be up for sharing theirs, especially if you're a frequent poster. It'd be interesting to see as I personally think engagement has gone up a lot in general on Hive lately, not just looking at @penguinpablo's comments/post stats but generally looking at communities trending pages it seems to be doing a lot better, especially the niche communities.
For those who aren't aware, if you click on your username in the right corner on @peakd and hit dashboard, then click analytics and then "Views and visitors":
it'll give you some cool stats.
The initial question in the discussion was why no front-end publically shows a viewcounter on each post, I'm not really sure myself either though it would be interesting to have a dialogue about it at some point.
Maybe for another time, though.
Another interesting stat that would go along nicely to these would be to differentiate between views that come to your post from people already using peakd and those coming from outside to your post directly, i.e. from @poshtoken Twitter shares. Maybe @jarvie or @asgarth could weigh in if that's a possibility, would be nice.
Anyway, let's see some stats! Will upvote some comments of people brave enough to share their viewcounter page. :D
Short post so will forfeit the rewards through beneficiaries. Will try get back into posting more often very soon, got me a new laptop recently after my pc died and really enjoying typing on it compared to my mechanical keyboard which lets the whole neighborhood know I'm typing something.
I tend to get some crazy view times on my older content.
None of these views are expected to be from within the Hive ecosystem themselves as these pages have risen in ranking quite a lot over time in search engines and are all quite old. While being rather invisible on Hive since people don’t move far beyond the first 24 hours.
I often notice and comment under many days old posts. Sometimes I even notice posts after the post payout (seven days). Some of these posts often have a lot of (probably automatic) upvotes, but 0, or close to 0 comments. Sometimes even in the promoted section. There are many ignored and overlooked posts on the Hive blockchain. So there is indeed a huge visibility problem on this platform.
Great Numbers!
Thanks. I’m hoping at some point I’ll hit a tipping point and my numbers will start rapidly multiplying. Would be cool to be bringing in 100k views a month one day down the road. It still feels so far away.
I vaguely recall the view counter was talked about in some post of the past. The gist of the story I got was it being a source of depression that a post on trending having so much votes to 3 digits and a view count of less than 10. This was around bid bot era.
I wanted that feature displayed again as a hard pill to swallow just to ego check authors that let the rewards they get right into their heads.
Hitting an average of a minute and at least 10 unique views are my threshold of at least I'm doing something right. Yeah, been monitoring what I shitpost once in a while and it bothers me if I don't hit those mini targets.
Haha. Hope you are enjoying being a keyboard warrior in silence. ;) I watch this page daily. Got nothing to hide @acidyo 😂 Check this:

5 Social Media Websites To Earn Crypto Without Investment!
^ This was the post I made like 10 months ago as a part of HIVE SEO community contest hosted by you guys at OCD. Sadly I didn't win. 🥺🥺 But it keeps the traffic coming. Looks like I should write more about such topics. Earning from crypto must be a hot searchable topic.
Also, The top 2 posts that brings the most page views from Google Search every week to LeoFinance.io are mine. :') I wrote them about 6 months ago.
I wish there were a system to get rewarded for bringing constant outside traffic to the blockchain. That way people would care a little more about SEO. Front ends should do something about it.
BTW I have a question from @jarvie & @asgarth, do these page views are only considering Peakd or all the front ends on HIVE? I am pretty sure a lot of my Leo Finance blogs are minting decent amount of search views from google but they are not showing up in this list anywhere.
Got my answer to the question asked to Jarvie and Asgarth. It was right in front of me all this time:
This means our content could be getting so many views on other front ends as well. That's pretty cool. I wish there was a way to track all this... but I understand that it's not easy.
And afaik the numbers are without those using the Brave browser unless they toggle the Shield-function.
Damn! Thats amazing buddy :D Gratz on the views! :D
Thanks a lot, mate. 😁 Great to see hard work paying off! I will get back on track writing evergreen content until I have enough audience who is interested to read my personal opinions and rants. 😂😂
Haha! I think thats a good way to grow your audience ;)
I am doing the opposite though haha xD
I just need to get back on the SEO game. I know what to do, I am just lazy :c
I also think that engagement has been much higher lately, I hope it stays that way for longer.
But yeah, mine isn't so impressive at all.
It could be better, I think
This is a cool topic. I haven't had time to check my stats lately (been busy helping those in need due to the war), but here's mime
Not so great though 😕 need to do better.
Looks quite decent!
Here my months i am happy because my old post are consulted.
It Is happening i am doing a great job with my contens, you know.
This had me gagging 😂😂😂😂
The humour in this statement is second to none 👌👌👌
thanks for this info i had been wondering how one might find info on that so it's great that peakd has this
My statistics doesn't look so good 😂
But I dont give up 😁
That's the spirit! :D
Yo what! A post of mine from 2020, is sitting at Nr.2 this month - https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@cwow2/nightmare-mode-concept wtf xD
It's interesting sometimes, I see it with my own posts or with those public "most viewed" lists, where you ask yourself "why this post? why now?"
Its just evergreen content to some extend :D
Yeah mine aren't really impressive:
I didn't actually know about this particular analytic. It seems a lot of mine are being opened long enough to vote on but not really read. Yeah I'm just screaming into the void 😅
Not bad for a newb I'd say haha.
I've been a wicked slacker when it comes to posting lately (which will change next month when I do the HiveBloPoMo thing again), so I guess it's no surprise that I have a bunch of comments sitting at the top, just under my most recent posts. The previous month looks much the same, with Power Up Day post at the top, followed by comments.
Neat feature that I hadn't seen before - thanks for pointing it out. 😊
Peakd is still one of the most useful tools I use on the Hive blockchain. The information it provides on my blog and other activities is incredible. I'm delighted your efforts are making such a difference on the platform. Thanks for this @acidyo
That's funny.. about the mechanical keyboard.. it's loud.. :P
Just doing the consistent thing..
Interesting post (and interesting to see in the comments the daymode/nightmode ratio of the screenshots). Not much traffic for my posts, but lately most were only in German, so smaller audience anyway. But several old posts on the list, one from August 2020... strange.
Wow, dear @acidyo you have just made me get new information about #peakd and I appreciate
It great to know about this new features on peakd, I think I have to know how the stat work. Thanks for the update
I saw it few days ago. I share a montly stats post every month by getting the data from Hivestats. Therefore, I will also look up it while preparing post.

Thanks for posting about this, had no idea this was a thing.
Oddly enough, my most visited and viewed post from this current month, and the month before, is a post I made back in May almost a year ago. This month it has gotten 84 views with 46 unique visitors. The previous month it had 188 views with 102 unique visitors. Really strange.
Just as a comparison, my average views on pretty much all my other posts per month is 10-16 with 9-10 unique visitors.
I also recently learned the existence of those analytics.
My numbers for the previous month show that not that many people read my long blogs fully. I however already imagined this... I nevertheless like writing long stories and I like to dream that this may get people from outside be interested in reading them on Hive. Maybe I am too naive, or too arrogant, I don't know.... In any case I enjoy doing what I do and I have a lot of fun. So... ;)
For only joining a few months ago, I have to say I'm not doing all that bad. Plan on having these numbers way up there by next year!
Actually I always wanted to see the view of my posts but everytime I opened I saw none. As thought Brave Browser Blocks it. But today due to this post I can see the views now. Here are mine. Just a start
Nice one Acid, thanks for sharing this one! Didn't know about that, and as I was using it I actually saw that it can be accessed this way too!
Hitting "My Analytics", did you knew that one tho? haha
