Knowing your work ethic Galen, this was never a question about your few remaining weeks at the office.
I thought back about this and even the positions where I didn't agree with the direction of the organization or company, I still made sure that there would be a relatively easy transition for the next person. There have also been instances where walked into a post and found the remnants of a hand grenade from the previous person and it's never really a very fair situation on the newcomer to be dumped in the deep end like that, having to remove shrapnel and all.
Do you think that in a few weeks they might call you up and say "So Galen, we would really like you to come back in, would you re-consider?" Gosh, if this happens, I'm totally stealing the title of Oracle from you okay?
Last week, then enjoy your time doing stuff for you.
Cheers
Walking into a hand grenade isn't a nice thing. I've done it also and it was a lot of work and inhibited forward progress for months so unproductive for the company. I've caught a few hand grenades and thrown them back too...I like doing that. You know, holding people accountable.
Look, lets just agree right now that if in a few weeks they beg me to come back, doubling my salary in the process, we'll go halves on the money ok? I think that's fair. You called it here. I'll keep you informed. Lol. (You know I'd not go back even if they did though right?)
I'm looking forward to some breathing room. :)
