I try to avoid posts about my personal world much on here - my aim is to keep things about my video work and interesting music related projects.
However, I think it’s worth celebrating the fact that my family has SUCCESSFULLY MOVED HOUSE!
Wooo and indeed HOOO.
It’s been 5 years since we first started trying to make all the pieces of our life fit toward the goal of moving house.
Money vs time vs energy vs life.
It’s a struggle.
It all got a bit much, after failing to sell our house first time around hit us pretty hard. Selling was/is exhausting work.
But after really REALLY needing the extra space, we decided over lockdown to give it another go. This post documents us in Feb 2021 figuring things out..
It has taken us the best part of 8 months to sell, buy and move.
It’s been exhausting but totally worth it.
We stayed focussed, saved money, planned ahead.
We’ve been focussed on getting a suitable house for the last 10 years! Saving hard and planning.
Our timing was particularly good too because we managed to take advantage of the Covid stamp duty relief in the UK, saving us £2400!! Which worked perfectly as we managed to complete and exchange 2 days before the deadline.
Here’s me and my youngest upon move day at our new house!

The light floods in to the kitchen, dining room and back bedroom. It’s beautiful to watch 😍
This house is everything we wanted.
Waaaay more indoor space, lovely neighbourhood, detached with a garden front and back, and a garage.
We’re finally feeling settled in after a good couple of weeks.
We’ve managed to empty 80% of our moving boxes.. and we made good use of them before passing on to a friend who is also moving soon…
(I enjoyed doing this way more than I should 😆)
BOX FORT!!
We are still celebrating two weeks in!
Life is good and moves so quick.
We are so energised to start this new chapter of our lives making this house awesome!
Having your own home is great. Happy to hear you found what you wanted. I expect you have lots to do to make it special for you.

Thanks man! Our new neighbours are cool, just not as young and cool as the others 😂
But this whole neighbourhood is evolving - I imagine in 10 years time this whole street will be full of families in these houses again, instead of 70/80 year olds occupying a 3 bed house alone!

Thanks so much! Yeah we’re dead pleased! The neighbours are in their old age but are lovely and really quiet. Then we rolled in to town 😂 the four headed noise machine haha

Congradulations, I am sure having extra outdoor space will be great for the family, your child looks very happy. I am most interested in the garage. Is it big enough for a studio?
Thanks man! Yeah we’re all super happy.
The garage is HUGE! It’s a stand alone. Plenty of space for all our excess crap haha.
But even cooler is the empty space behind the garage, it’s about the same size footprint of the garage and is currently flagged.
Our neighbours (with the same plot/space/layout) have built a studio on that bit. It looks perfect for the kind of thing I’d like to build in the future!
So yeah - home studio may be the way to go!

There’s not much buzz here and it’s a different vibe (lots of older residents in their 70s/80/90. But there are apparently loads of wider community activities like Halloween and Christmas trails etc which will be great to bring folk together.
