Hello everyone, I'm Renuka Gohel. I'm here on hive after a very long time and I m very excited to post my first blog in the @ocd community. Today I'm going to share my Thursday routine with you all @ocd friends, I hope you all like my content.
So, I'm from Gujarat(India), and everyone knows that India is known for its diverse culture and every religion that exists in the world is also followed by many in our country.
In India, Thursday is like the most auspicious day for worshipping several Hindu gods and our family devotes this day to a saint from Shirdi who is known by the name of Sai Baba. In our home, my family members and I not only worship sai baba but also keep fast on Thursdays.
So basically on Thursday I get up at seven or eight o'clock in the morning and brush my teeth while listening to Punjabi songs, these songs help freshen up my mind and I listen to them every day.
Nowadays, I take a hot water bath because it's winter here....😖.....I get ready and wear a yellow dress. This is a kind of a regular tradition here that we all wear yellow clothes on Thursdays.
Then I do 5 to 10 minutes of pooja in the pooja room in front of god. Then I usually do my daily housework like dusting, making breakfast for my siblings. After that, I surfed youtube for an hour or more. Sometimes I watch videos about various topics like DIY things, about blockchain, sometimes about Indian recipes, sometimes about home remedies for my hair and skin. I love to surf on youtube on these topics.
In the afternoon only my siblings eat lunch because I and my parents have kept fast. I clean our kitchen after lunch was done and washed utensils and took a small nap for about one hour...and after getting up we all sat together and enjoyed a cup of tea and coffee.
I and my elder sister @jyotigujju prepared dinner to break the fast and on Thursdays, we make at least two to three dishes. Basically, we both, I and my sister plan first what to cook then we distribute our work between ourselves.
I always cook daal and rice and my sister cook bread that is also known as chapati with sabzi. One thing is also there in the menu that I make most of the time for my mom, I don't if know you guys know about that or not, it's called rotlo in the Gujarati language and it is made from pearl millet. It is big in size and we Gujarati eat it more than we eat roti that is made from wheat.
My dad told me that rotlo is much easier to digest than roti. Before having dinner, my dad pray in front of god and then we offered food to god, this is our ritual, we do it regularly. We also offer breakfast to our god in the morning and in the afternoon and evening we offer food to god before we eat it ourselves.
One thing that my mom does is that if she brought even a bar of single chocolate, which she will never do because she will bring more, but even then she will first offer that to god and then only we take it from mandir and share it among ourselves. This is our way of saying thanks to God for providing us with the food on our plate and being kind to us. We pay our respect this way.
Ok so, after finishing dinner I cleaned the kitchen and my sister cleaned the dirty utensils. Now after everything was done and we had time, so I and my sister started watching our favourite serials that are broadcasted every day.
We also love to spend some time with our pet dog. His name is Tipu and although he sleeps throughout the day, but whenever he is awake he plays with us and entertains us.
