Hello, @dswigle, this is my first post about your #marketfriday initiative.
I am craving for sweets for my coffee breaks because the past few days have been depressing. Three of my fishes just died and I am not sure if another one is gonna go next because it looks bloated but she might be pregnant or whatever. My fishes have been with me for so long, I am so sad of them dying. I feel bad as a pet owner, I feel guilty of whatever it is that made them weak but I have no idea in mind since I pamper them so much and I make sure all is well with the water parameters.
Anyway, enough about the sad news. I went to Krispy Kreme in Alabang Town Center because that's the branch nearest me. I also do my grocery shopping there as well. I love the glazed KK donuts because they are classic and perfectly pairs with my black coffee.
At the KK store, they no longer allow going into the store, they just allow takeouts. Very unrelaxing because you have to fall in line and wait and go when you are served.
I am pretty sure they are having losses in these times. Aside from people are not earning and donuts and eating out are kinda luxurious these days. There is also the fear of getting infected in public areas.
Many of the pandemic thoughts are toxic and make people suffer anxiety but let us try to focus on the bright side. At least, people try to have that feel of the old normal. Businesa are getting back on their feet. People are slowly having the confidence to accept and embrace the new normal.
I am pretty sure we will have better days ahead. This pandemic won't last forever just like how the plagues in the past didn't. Let's live a day at a time and try to enjoy down times with a little sweetness like these donuts.
This is my entry for the #marketfriday initiated by @dswigle.
Good morning from Washington, DC in the United States! I welcome you to #MarketFriday! I can see that you brought us donuts! Krispy Kreme! Many people here love them! Especially the original glazed.
In case people don't know, Alabang is a barangay in Muntinlupa, Philippines. At one time the area was a farming district and has since grown from a village to a major commercial center, which includes the Filinvest City and Madrigal Business Park. (the growing up part I had to get from the internet. :) It is always interesting to know where people came from so that you can measure how much you are alike or different. It was really fun to see the donut place there. Just like here. :)
I totally agree with you on this too shall pass. It must. The new normal is too depressing, but, yes... No depressing thoughts. I am more focused on the wonderful treat you brought. So much trouble to go out and go places here right now, especially in the cities. Too many crowds and our Metros are empty. Government people are telecommuting. It has been a mess, but, hopefully, with time...You have such a well, laid out post! Thank you for that and for bringing yet another place spoken from! We love it!
I loved your take on this and all the time spent on those pictures!!!! Oh, thank you! 😍 Thank you for providing different elements to the cultural exchange we provide here. I can say that so many people are now enjoying not only the markets and places visited, but the different cultures than their own, showing off how we are so different, but, also, showing how many things we have in common. I appreciate the love and support you give to #MarketFriday! I feel like we are getting a core group that enjoys sharing their life and the different ways of life, which is great!
