This another song that John and I had been tossing around and playing with for years. It's what we called a "concept song". Inspired by the layout of Meatloaf's "Anything for Love". The idea is that each verse is a different story or concept that feeds into a corresponding chorus. This way there is more of a dynamic to the overall song as it contains more than one theme or concept.
The only thing that John and I could agree on was the 3 different themes we wanted to cover in the song.
Those themes were 3 different couples in 3 different scenarios:
- The couple that had never met and realize that they are perfect for each other. They ask each other where have you been all of their life.
- The couple that are cheating on each other. They ask the question of where they have both been.
- The couple that have grown up together and finally realize that they love each other. Asking themselves where have you been. Meaning why didnt they think of this before.
I used Grok to flesh out the 3 stories and put them coherrently together and create the image. Then used Suno for the music.
