Every year we celebrate CHILDRENS DAY on the 5th of December. I know in every country it can differ and be on another day.

What is CHILDRENS DAY for SURINAME, my country, all about? It is not about Santaclaus but letting the kids know how important they are, and about their worth let them enjoy and do fun things with or for them.
In the eyes of God, we are worth more than gold and we often forget how important it is to teach our kids that they matter, that their existence matters, their will is important. I can remember that when I was little whenever I told my mom or dad that I wanted something or didn't want something they'd tell me; "You have nothing to want" in other words whatever I desired or wanted wasn't important. And as I see it this is also one of the reasons that when we become grownups it's difficult to tell someone or anyone that you want something because you've been taught and are scared that it won't be appreciated or that it doesn't matter.

Not only teaching them their worth but also letting them enjoy extra, feeding them, doing fun stuff with and for them, have them feel that they're appreciated and loved. Doing some extra things on this day. And I know that we should teach our kids their worths not just on this day but every day but this day is dedicated especially to them and them.
We tend to easily forget those who have no parents, live on the streets, those in orphanages, the sick and handicapped but they matter too.
But whenever we can let's keep them in mind too by praying for them or giving just a hug or some love by saying you matter, you're beautiful and letting them know that even though they're different or in some certain situation they are just as much worth as any other child.
Let me tell you a SURINAME tradition that our parents did on this day! The day before children's day if you're naughty your parents tell you that Santa Claus will put you in a garbage bag and bring you away and you'll never see your family again. I still laugh to this day whenever I think about it because it always got me scared and I went on praying to God and try being nice the whole day. If you were nice or obedient you'd get gifts. So at night, we all went to sleep. In the morning when you wake up you find presents on your shoes and you may open them.
So that's something I want to keep doing.

I have 3 kids/ 3 sons;
Adir, who's 3 years old
Ephraim, who's 2 years old
Elifaz, who's 5 months old
Adir en Ephraim had little superhero metal cars, like 6 or so which they lost a few months ago. And ever since they've asked us to get them the same cars again.
These types of cars are expensive! Like maybe 1 cost 1200, 3000, 900, etc. Prices range between type, size, and brand.
So buying all of them back in one time can make you go deep in your pockets.
But yesterday we taught that today would be a good time surprising them with what they'd lost but I didn't find the superhero ones instead I bought them 5 others. Check the photos to see!
My kids were so happy! And that made my day, you know! Just seeing them happy and enjoying what they get and have means more to me than I don't know how to articulate.
Just wanted to share this with ya'll. Happy CHILDRENS DAY to all out there. May your worth never decrease!
What time can you remember that Surprising your kids with something brought you so much joy just by seeing them happy and appreciative?
