Greetings, dear hive.
We have been missing from the Blokchain community for quite a long time (approximately two years), but we have decided to return to this wonderful community with new positive energies to share with you the work that our Climbing School has been doing in recent years and also to share a little what has been the progress of Climbing as a sport in our country and worldwide.
Happy and with positive energy
During these last two years, especially in 2019, an endless number of events took place around our Climbing School, both positive and negative. The economic and social situation that our country is going through in Venezuela is quite difficult and this also influenced us in a certain way, bringing us some setbacks at a sports level. But, despite the difficulties, we have worked hard to make our sports school progress and also to make the practice of Climbing more and more known in our country. The athletes who make up our School have put in a lot of effort and we have obtained positive results from the hard workouts.
Since we decided to rejoin the Blockchain community at a time of great change, we will take advantage of this publication to introduce ourselves to the Hive community, but before we start we want to offer a special thanks to our great friend @ats-david who contributed his grain of sand With the World Cup Series 2018 contest, which managed to raise a total of 66,121 SBD and 30,225 STEEM on the Steemit platform, here we highlight and thank the users who contributed to achieving these figures with their direct donation:
@tuck-fheman (10 SBD)
@sbcbot (10 SBD)
@Ervin-LEMARK (5 SBD)
@derangedvisions (2.5 SBD)
@fullcoverbetting (1 SBD)
@kryptocek (1 SBD)
Their help was of great importance since these funds represented 72% of the acquisition of 60 meters of dynamic rope for the enjoyment of the School. Without their support, the practices of our sport would have been more difficult, since we do not have any type of private support, much less government, so basically all the costs of maintaining our security equipment and cleaning our facilities going on our own... so, from all of our athletes: THANK YOU, DAVID!
Who are us?
We are a Venezuelan Climbing and Mountaineering Club that lives on the artificial climbing wall located in the Caricuao parish in Caracas, Capital District. This Club has approximately nine years of existence and arises as an initiative of a group of rock climbers with extensive experience at a sports level in general. Our School's main objective is to attract new people (children, adolescents and adults) interested in sports to promote them and train them in the practice of Climbing to become potential representatives of our Club / School in competitions at the district and national level.
Our climbing wall
Currently, our school has a considerable number of members, but only six of them are part of the Capital District Climbing Selection. These six athletes meet the requirements to be part of the selection: 1) be consistent in training and 2) practice the three modalities of the sport (speed, lead and boulder).
Bouldering training
In our country, Climbing is not a very popular sports practice because this sport is quite expensive in the sense that the construction of facilities for artificial climbing is quite complex and requires a large sum of money, on the other hand, to practicing this sport requires a safety equipment that includes: ropes, safety carabiners, harness, among other devices that are expensive and that, in the special case of our country, cannot be acquired within the national territory because the existence of they are limited, not to mention that these equipments are not commercialized; Also, climbers require special shoes designed for climbing, and Magnesium Carbonate is used to avoid sweating on the hands.
Another factor that influences that our sport is not well recognized in our country is the absence of a Climbing Federation in Venezuela, which is the organization responsible for this sport in terms of organization, planning and regulation. Due to this, our club together with all the other climbing clubs existing nationwide have organized and unified much more during the last year and a half in order to publicize Climbing in Venezuela and to demonstrate that we do have dedicated athletes and committed to this wonderful sport, and that the community of Venezuelan high-performance climbers is getting bigger. Last year (2019) an important schedule of climbing competitions was carried out in our country, organized by the Associations of each State made up of independent Clubs ... it had been a long time without national (valid) competitions having been held consecutively in the same year that will include all age categories and the three sports modalities. In addition to this, last September a competitive district difficulty check was carried out, where all the novice and experienced climbers belonging to the Capital District Clubs (including our Club) had the opportunity to participate. Several of our club's athletes managed to earn a place on the podium, some even taking first place.

We, the Climbing and Mountaineering Club of Caricuao, have many stories to tell and also many dreams to fulfill, so our motto is: “IT IS FORBIDDEN TO GIVE UP”. If you like extreme sports and if you want to support the athletes of our school and the Venezuelan Climbing, be attentive to our publications, our goal on this platform is to publicize a little more how wonderful this sport is.
Support Venezuelan sport and help us that climbing in our country continues to grow!
