RE: NEWBIE INITIATIVE LAST TASK: RECOUNT OF GOALS MADE || PLANS FOR 2022

@monioluwa, can I share some thoughts I have as I read your post?

I'll share... just cover your eyes if you don't want any advice from your Hive sister, right?! πŸ˜†πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‰

If you still feel like you don't really enjoy networking much, it might be because you're trying to make yourself talk to and be friends with people just for the sake of 'ticking a box' or 'earning more HP'. If networking feels like a chore, or it feels heavy to you, then try a different strategy:

Think about connecting with people who you really resonate with, who you would want to have a conversation with in real life because you find them interesting. Hang out with the people (online) who you feel like you could learn things from that you genuinely want to learn.

I find that those people who connect with a lot of people on here and just add "throw away" (meaningless) comments that don't add anything to the post/conversation are not really going to thrive on Hive. It's always going to feel like work to them. And I don't want a relationship with them anyway. I want a relationship with the people who I learn interesting things from and who make me laugh, and smile, and cry, and appreciate my life.

Hive can be a way to extend the awesomeness of our (IRL) lives if we let it be. It doesn't need to be a chore.

And it's the same with helping newbies join Hive. Think about how it will help you. My partner, Brad, helps bring new people to Hive all the times. He's actively doing it because he knows that the more people he helps onto the platform the more everyone wins, including himself.

So that's my advice (if you're still reading πŸ˜‹): Take anything that feels like a chore on here and if you know it needs to be done then find a way to do it that feels joyful, productive and authentic.

Make it work for you and make it fun. Because life is supposed to be fun and I truly think it can be πŸ˜ƒ

Of course not.πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ I love it when people take out of their time to advice me. Thank you.

One of the reasons why I joined this platform was so I could get better at networking in the real world. And to be honest, I haven't considered taking another approach before. Now that you've mentioned it, I think it's time to go back to the drawing table and restrategize. Your suggestion is a wonderful one by the way. I'll definitely try it out.

I smiled when I got to this part. πŸ˜…
I really appreciate the fact that you were detailed in your response. The least I can do is make sure I read it to the last letter.

You're one of the few friends I've made here on Hive and I'll be looking forward to getting to know you more. I really appreciate all the advice and I'll definitely do well to put them in action. 😊😊

Bless. You have a very sharp mind and a willingness to learn, Monioluwa. This we have in common so it's easy for me to appreciate this in you. There will be more people who feel like this, with clever minds and willing hearts. Keep looking. There's more of us.

See you soon, friend.

Thank you very much... 😊😊😊
