Do the right things or do it right?
Which will you choose?
I have spoken to many people and I get different answers. Those who subscribe to "strategic vs tactical thinking" will want to do the right things.
Others have shared that they rather do things right, cos it is about giving your best, being professional and generally, getting things done the right way.
IMHO, there is a time and place for both:
If you do something “right,” (~correctly) but it’s the wrong thing to do, your efforts will be futile.
Conversely, if you do the “right thing,” but you do it wrong, you’ll also fail miserably.
The additional dimension here is that what we consider the right thing to do may not be what our team mates think to be right. Caring about what others think makes you even more self-conscious on your reputation. Do avoid miscommunication, there is hence an additional need to explain and be transparent.
This is indeed a circumstantial question and I hope you makes you realise there is no "one size fits all answer" as it truly depends on the situation and scenario you are in.
Again, please look for a more suitable community before dropping your post in OCD. There's a community called Reflections, where you can reflect on things.
Thanks pal, really need helpful folks like you to share the right communities! Cheers!
