Su fauna es muy variada y en ella se encuentran muchos animales los cuales estan en peligro de extinsión.
Su flora es bellisima , cuenta con unos manglares maravillosos.
Uno de los lugares que tuve la oprtunidad de visitar fue el parque nacional la laguna de la restinga un sitio muy concurrido por los turistas que visitan la isla, lo que mas me gusto de este sitio fue el paseo en lancha por toda la laguna , esos manglares fascinantes de muchos colores, los canales y túneles estan identificados con carteles, por ejemplo hay uno llamado el paraíso del amor y así como el muchos, tambien se pueden apreciar varias plazas en el recorrido hasta llegar a la playa , cabe destacar que esta laguna cuenta con una gran variedad de peces.
Al llegar a la playa la restinga gozas de un paraiso natural inigualable, mucha belleza y comidas tipicas de la zona.
Otra de la peculiaridad de la isla es ese atardecer de ensueño.
