This week's theme is Reflections. I would like to see how creative everyone can get with capturing different reflections on different types of surfaces. This theme can be a little more difficult than others mainly because you have to shoot with the intent to capture a reflection somehow, so recycling older content may be a bit of a challenge, but if you are up for shooting new photos for this, it could be pretty fun.
I am looking forward to seeing what type of creative images you all come up with. Thank you for taking part in the contest!
How is the Deranged Photography Contest set up?
The contest is broken up into 2 different tiers. Each will have a different rewards for the winners based on what tier you enter into.
Here is a breakdown of the rewards based on the tiers:
Place | Professional | Amateur |
---|---|---|
1st | 5 Hive | 4 Hive |
2nd | 3 Hive | 2 Hive |
3rd | 2 Hive | 1 Hive |
Each contest will be open for submissions for 6 days and close on the 7th day so that winners can be picked and the new post can be made.
There will be a new theme announced each week. I am hoping to have the whole year planned out and will be able to have that posted for you all to prepare images for the contest.
How to enter
When you enter a photo in the competition, you will state what tier you want to be judged in and locked in for the month at that level.
For example if you enter a photo, you drop the photo in the comment section, state what level of photographer you are, and then give a description of the photograph.
That's pretty much it, drop a photo in the comment section of this post and state your tier. If you want to make a separate post for your entry as well, that is fine, but for your entry to be valid, your photo and tier must be in here in the comment section of this post. If you do make a separate post, be sure to use the and #oc tag. You are also encouraged to join the OCD Community and make your post to the OCD Community. You can join the OCD Discord and be a part of our discord community by clicking the link.
Additional Notes
Only one submission per contest. Extra submissions will be ignored.
You can switch your tier ONE time per month, but only if you are moving up into a higher tier, for example if you are currently in the amateur tier, but you think that you have a photograph that you want to enter in the professional tier, you can state that you are changing your tier to professional. You will then be locked into the new tier for the remainder of the month. You are not able to move down to a lower tier, like going from amateur to the beginner tier.
If you do not state which tier you want to be judged in for the month, I will leave a comment to remind you to do so, but if you don't respond, you will be assigned to a tier and locked in for that month.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated in any form. All submissions must be your own work. I will investigate every entry and if you are caught plagiarizing, not only will you be blacklisted from competing from any future contests, but you will be reported to @steemcleaners as well.
You are encouraged to share your posts on social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, etc. If you do so, use the #posh tag on your post and share the link of your share in the comment section of your post for a chance for extra curation from curation projects that are curating posts that are promoting Steem to sites outside of the blockchain.

PUDDLED, NOT PUZZLED
The place that has only one weather - HOT. Years on end it only rained once every 360 days. Just one day. For a few hours, at most. Along with it came countless smiles, prayers and memories...and the long wait again. But never did we feel its absence. We were at the heart of innovation and a pinnacle of technology and civilization coming together. Dubai, heard of it?
Arguably one of the best places to be in. In the entire world. Life is comfortable here. Its good. Its as pleasing as life can get. Every bit of safety and innovation here.
For years we saw the country flood when it poured. The only flood where nobody panics or complains, rather enjoy. For years on end we cherished and waited for more.
Until 2020, the year that already saw 3 rains. Cloud seeding. An amazing way of stimulating rain. Roads blocked, empty streets...but happy faces.
I do not think I had as much fun ever before. So I went out seeing what I could do with a camera once the rain stops.
In between building more infrastructure and booming empire, puddles.
Here is the post I made earlier sharing my experience and some more pictures.

Very creative shot!
Hey Wes, good to see you hosting photo contests again. I love this theme. Very hard for me to pick just one entry though as I have taken many shots with some reflection but there you go... This one is from my Czech hometown.
The full post with many other reflections is here.

Great shot. I love that reflection of the sky
Thanks Wes. It was my favorite but it turned out people liked more the one with the reflection of the Trakai Castle (from the post).

A little while back before the Covid-19 lockdown i visited the King Rama IX Park in Bangkok city this is a huge park donated to the public by the late King and this beautifully shaped museum inside display all of what the late King did for his country this museum sits on this beautiful man made lake in this park.
Amazing feeling to win at the first contest here on Hive at amateur tier! Thank you very much for the recognition.
My entry to this week is below:
Photo was taken on Iceland, back in February 2017. I really like reflection photos, but am still a beginner on that field. Iceland is a great destination to learn as it offers a lot of water which reflects different motives, such as this glacier.
I’m a bit late with my entry.
