To Love a Tree

In the deepening spring of May, I had no choice but to recognize the trembling of my heart. It usually happened as the sun was going down. In the pale evening gloom, when the soft fragrance of magnolias hung in the air, my heart would swell without warning, and tremble, and lurch with a stab of pain. I would try clamping my eyes shut and gritting my teeth, and wait for it to pass. And it would pass –but slowly, taking its own time, and leaving a dull ache behind.

Their scent is truly like an obscene phone call from nature itself. And just like that, it's beauty is gone.

I adore the beauty of our world, the uniqueness of nature, the sacred scents of the earth. Oh, how I love thee. It is with such pleasure that I put out some trees, some flowers, and very soon I promise, the buzzing of bees. It is such a pleasure to join in #TreeTuesday with @old-guy-photos. Show me your trees!

My faithful friend, one of many, standing like a century in my life, winter or summer, it never takes a day off... from being a tree.

The fact that the dance of the Cherry Trees is over makes me a little bit sad, but I do know that next year, they will appear once again, dragging me out of the winter and into the spring.

Fare thee well, my beauty.

The clouds make the best backdrop to my day, dotting the sky, or waving their palms in the breeze, saying goodbye. How can we dispute our love for the tree, wherever it's planted, wherever it be? Hail the loveliness of trees!

It has been a long time since I have tried this, so, I'll try it again this week. Is it wrong to post a Christmas Tree on #TreeTuesday? Maybe it is the warmth emerging from my heart on this beautiful day. I want to post something that brings that feeling to people. It seems most can produce that feeling at will during that time of year. So, yes. Take a tree. Now give me some peace on earth, goodwill towards man.

The simplest gesture can give you the greatest pleasures in life. You have to give it to yourself some days. Let life have its way, on occasion, you just have to let go.

Let the sun shine in on your life
So the joy may touch your soul

May there always be a flower or three. #alwaysaflower

The Googles announced a few days ago: NATIONAL LOVE A TREE DAY. On May 16th each year, National Love a Tree Day celebrates the wonderful gifts trees give. Set in the middle of Garden for Wildlife Month, the observance encourages us to care for trees and plant trees.

I missed my opportunity to post in a timely manner.
