I Decided To Take A Personality Test And The Results Were Pretty Accurate

This evening I was watching a video on Youtube by popular Youtuber JackSepticEye where he went online and took a personality test. Since I really didn't have much planned today (I usually don't), I decided that for fun I'd go online and take the same test to see what it said and the results were pretty damn accurate.

The first time I took the test, I really took my time with it. For fun, a few hours later I had forgotten the questions and my answers to them and decided to take it again but much quicker. It came out with the same result, so I guess this test knows me better than I thought.

I'll go over the results, but if you're bored and/or wanting to see what your personality type is, you can take the quick test yourself here: https://www.16personalities.com/.

It's follows the Myers-Briggs personality test in which there are 16 unique different personalities.

Let's look at my results though!

ISTP-A was the personality type that I got. It stands for Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving. The A stands for Assertive.

That's pretty accurate, but things really got interesting when I read more into it.

-General-

ISTP indicates a person who is energized by time spent alone (Introverted), who focuses on facts and details rather than ideas and concepts (Sensing), who makes decisions based on logic and reason (Thinking) and who prefers to be spontaneous and flexible rather than planned and organized (Perceiving). ISTPs are sometimes referred to as Craftsperson personalities because they typically have an innate mechanical ability and facility with tools.

-ISTP Values and Motivations-

ISTPs are curious about the mechanics of the world around them and typically have a unique ability to manipulate the tools in their environments. They tend to study how things work and often achieve mastery in the use and operation of machines, instruments, and equipment. They seek understanding, but in a practical sense: they like to be able to put their technical knowledge to immediate use and are quickly bored by theory.

ISTPs tend to be detached and prefer the logic of mechanical things to the complexity of human emotions. Independent and reserved, ISTPs treasure their personal space, and want to be free to be spontaneous and follow their own lead. ISTPs are selective about their relationships, and appreciate others who allow them plenty of freedom to do their own thing.

-How Others See the ISTP-

ISTPs are typically reserved and even aloof. Tolerant and nonjudgmental, the ISTP calmly takes in the details and facts of their surroundings, noticing sensory data and observing how things work. They often tune into what needs to be done, taking care of the immediate needs of the moment in a modest, inconspicuous way. They tend to prefer action to conversation, and are often private about their personal lives. ISTPs are unlikely to “open up” to new people in a conventional way, but may connect with others by sharing an activity or working together to solve a practical problem.

ISTPs are good with their hands and often mechanical. They are typically attracted to hands-on hobbies like woodworking or crafts, and may be found tinkering with bicycles, computers, cars, or household appliances. They often have an intuitive understanding of machines and a remarkable ability to fix things. ISTPs have an appreciation for risk and action, and often enjoy thrilling leisure activities like extreme sports, motorcycling, or weaponry.

That's pretty damn accurate. I'm certainly introverted and love working with my hands specifically things with technology. I built my own computer and even when I was a kid, I loved to take things apart to see how they work and to see what made them "tick". The amount of tech articles and "how to build a budget gaming PC" articles that I've written on here are proof of that.

I almost always think with my head and not my heart. I prefer facts and logic over emotions. In fact, I rarely make decisions based on my emotions.

People with my personality type also don't like structure because it can become boring quite quickly. That's why I enjoy writing articles on here because I can do it when I want to and about what I want to. It's not structured. I'm free to do my own thing.

My personality type happens in only around 5% of people, but it's more common in men (9% of men compared to only 2% of women).

You can read more about my personality type online, but I'm fairly impressed by it's accuracy. It's not 100% accurate, but I also read from tons of different websites about my personality type so something is bound to be inaccurate.

Everyone is their own individual person of course, but of the 16 different personality types, I think it got me pretty spot on.

It'd be interesting to see others on here take the test and see what results you get and if it's accurate to you!

I will definitely try the personality test. I'm also an introvert and love computers and technology. Thanks to you now I know GTA 5 is now available for free. I'm going to download it right away. 😄

It's a really awesome game! Awhile ago, I actually listed GTA 5 in my Top 10 games of all time and I've been gaming for over 25 years now. I think you'll love it. Pro tip: Play the single player campaign first. It's so good.

I'm glad you got a free game though :)
