Hello everyone, with everything going on in the world, I hope this can put a smile on your face. This is a recent commissioned portrait work I worked on last month. It took me roughly three weeks to finish, though I did quite procrastinate on it so it should have been two weeks. This was a hard one, mainly because the reference picture I received was really blurry, I had to use my imagination in several parts, something I'm not great at, I really tried my best though and turns out the owner loves it.
I used mostly charcoal powder and pencils, only bringing out my graphite tools for the fine details, the hair remains a challenge as I'm still not satisfied with my skills in that aspect.
The portrait is on a Strathmore 300 medium surface paper, I used a TomBow Mono Zero eraser and a White UniPosca marker for the highlights.
It's been done and framed, but now that I look at it, there are so many things I could've improved on. Ah, this is the regret that always comes after working on a piece.
As a bonus, I'm including a shot of it framed.
Your work is amazing!! I love the detail and the realism, yet there seems to be surreal aspect in the flow of the water that I really like as well.
Thanks 😊
It's really amazing. I think yoy are concerned about the hair but I think it's okay🌝
Thank You
