Talking about the movie industry, it is not as easy as people think. Many time people ask me how does the movie industry work, how do we make money, do I really make money from acting, how do we create effect.
Most question I do get is, why do people die in movies and it looks so real and in other movie you still see the same person alive and some times still see them physical, the question Is. Don’t they really die?,
Growing as a child I was also a victim to these thought, getting into the industry(movie) I get to understand how movie making works, which I will share it here.
Starting from the first question, “how do we make money from film making” first , making money the the movie industry easy and it pays too only if you know what you are doing.
As a movie actor you can make money through getting endorsed by brands, also by charging for evey role you play in a movie set. as it is now in this 21st century, internet has made life easy for every body, both in the entertainment sector.
As an actor we do not depend on movie contract or endorsement by company/brands any more, but rather take a new dimension by creating personal content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook etc.
Talking about movie tricks, is like telling you a story of the Titanic, funny right, it’ true. Acting or shooting a scene in a movie is sometimes very hectic ,we have to repeat every sentence again and again just to get the right character, word after word, take after take, sometimes putting on a charect that is not really you can be very stressful, both for the director and the D.o.p (director of photography) some time it take a full month, two, three or even a year to complete a movie shoot.
As an actor I have encounter challenges and as well solve them, I remember when I was suppose to feature in a movie series, and I was to play the role of a stammerer, it actually took me months to get into the right character, getting to the set was another movie series on it own, due to challenges on the set, such as light out, non-responsive characters etc.
As an actor you are entitled to get welfare(food) at least twice on every set daily, as well as accommodation for the number of days the actor will be on set, it sound interesting right, but at the Same time there is a lot of work making a movie.
I remember when I had the opportunity to be in the same set with mark angle comedy crew,
we have to shoot for a full day and take it to the next day before we could get the right shot, it was a fun filled project but at the same time stressful.
I have been to a set were all I could was to help carry around cameras even join to shoot the movie as a DOP which wasn’t what I I was called to do,bit getting to to the set it turn out that there was no DOP. Wow, shooting a movie with a DOP….thought it was a low budget production.
I was then ask to help out ,guest what!!, I did it even better than the expectations,. In the movie industry I don’t think there is any thing thing I haven’t son, I have handle a lot of department when it comes to film production, such as props, sound, costume, welfare, etc
We recorded a short film when I was in college for a class and I can resonate with the part where you say it's hectic. When you're doing that same shot for the 40th time you start to lose your spirits eventually.
You give some nice insight into the movie industry from your point of view here. Very nice!
I would recommend checking out the Movies & TV community if you wanna post about and discuss movies. As far as I'm aware you can both post about your own movies and experiences as well as movies you watch. You'll get a lot more attention from people interested in movies over there. This OCD community is mainly meant for posts that don't fit into any other communities.
Thank you very much,I will do just that,am a lover of entertainment and it gladdened my heart telling stories and entertaining people at the same time.
Making movie is a fun filled moment, telling stories is my calling. Thanks once more.
