Only in the toilet paper you will find survival | Digital Art

in OCD5 years ago

Is it true that having a lot of toilet paper increases +10000 survival points? Okay, I'm kidding. Everyone's locked up in quarantine, but some got paranoid days ago, they got rid of all the toilet paper! Now what am I going to wipe my little tail with? XD.

These are hard times that humanity goes through these days, but not everything is so bad, I've been in quarantine for almost 5 days and I feel great, it's one of the advantages of being introverted, so I'll take advantage of these days to draw to the maximum. I'll tell you that I had a proposal of work that consists in the illustration of many characters and they will keep me busy during all the isolation, soon you will see what it is about. Returning to the subject of toilet paper, can anyone explain to me why they destroyed it?.

Tomorrow I'll go out and do some shopping (I'm not going to buy paper by the way), my town is small and I hope there are still some shopkeepers selling something, wish me luck.

Tools:

  • Medibang Paint
  • Wacom Intuos 4
  • Photoshop

-Step 1:

I started out sketching my idea, struggling with the proportions and perspective I wanted to achieve in the character.

-Step 2:

In a new layer below the sketch, I added color by filling in the character's silhouette and then using the layer block to be able to paint over it without coming out.

-Step 3:

With the watercolor brush, I progressively detailed the character, focusing mainly on his clothes. When I was painting him, I realized that I almost never detail the clothes too much, but doing so gives a very realistic bonus to the illustration. My enemy this time was the left hand of the character (the one that is empty), I was drawing it over and over again without getting what I wanted, I spent a lot of time on it, almost an hour and a half and I got too frustrated.

-Step 4:

In Photoshop I gave all the final touches, there I have a great variety of brushes and I constantly start to experiment with them, you can see it clearly in the background brushstrokes and the brightness of the environment, also, I gave a special shine to the roll of paper he holds as a trophy. So that your gaze is automatically directed towards it.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
