To the girl who needs to hear this today: you're bigger than your biggest breakdown⁣.

At my lowest, I was laying on a random bathroom floor in a minidress with mouse ears on (because I was a mouse, duh). And both completely at a loss on how to manage my life with an illness and also trying to act like it wasn't a thing. So I was out drinking, doing whatever to mask the fact that I was totally depressed and numbing out. ⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
It was an iconic moment in my life. ⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
That was 8 years ago and since then a lot has happened. I've still had lows. Like when I did the bend-and-snap in a full elevator one night, or passed out in an elevator once after a blood test and woke up to a receptionist standing over me asking if I was ok... because yes, I just prefer to ride elevators laying down. ⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
The point is, as shitty and totally out of the world messy those moments were and how much I was struggling, I wouldn't be where I am today or who I am without them.⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
They always say, you "grow through what you go through" and I am a firm believer in the truth of that statement. Without the struggle, I wouldn't have found my strength...⁣

Or my tolerance for alcohol.

Or the fact that I have to do blood tests laying down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
So even when it feels like your breaking or being broken down, know that you’re just on the cusp of being built back up, stronger and better than ever. ⁣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣
If I can overcome the mouse-ear debacle and bounce back from a public bend-and-snap, then you, my friend, can literally do anything!⁣
