It's time again to order some new polishes and other tools for my nail art obsession! I've been doing my own nails since May and I feel naked having normal nails now. It's been so therapeutic to me which is why I enjoy it so much.
It's even fun to have a new hobby because I don't think I ever had any. Like, before they ask me what my hobby is I just answer painting/art. Well that makes no sense now anymore cos it's already my profession lol and I've never really done anything else in my life. Not even gaming or other ones cos I just occasionally do it. Now I can say doing nails is one of them. :D Fun to do when you don't want to think anything about art (although technically it is still art, but just not the usual thing I do haha).
I prioritized the most important things of course. :p Bought some base and top coat gels and a lot of nude colors + just some other cute colors in case I want something vibrant.
The nudes look good although just a slight difference from the ad picture tho I don't mind that much. What surprised me the most was the neon green lol. It's supposed to be yellow green, more on the lime-side but I didn't expect it to be neon but I guess maybe I can mix the colors to achieve the color that I want.
The most exciting part is that I bought these nail tips to try as new methods for extensions. I used polygel for my previous ones but they take so much of my time that sometimes it takes me 12 hours to do them. I've also seen this extension method by some Youtubers so I figured to give it a try.
As you can see, they are already shaped and all you need to do is find the right size for you and stick it on your nail. Maybe a little filing too but it's really a simple process.
Three shapes that I bought for different moods. :p
I also bought some gems stuff which I found in one of the shops (that I didn't find in others). Pretty glamorous :D
There's also one thing I've learned that made me not hold back in spending for my hobby: When you spend for your passion, you're investing in yourself. I agree with that 100% as I can see myself improve my self-confidence with it and the process makes me happy!
So no dime wasted indeed. :p
Show us the nails next time you do a new set!
Here's the latest one using nail tips. It's the neatest I've done so far!
That looks so professional, well done! How long do these stay good looking before you have to do them again?
Thank you! It's been on for a week now, only 1 fell so far but can easily reattach it using the glue. Also need to consider that I also do heavy chores so 1 week is great with this already especially with the length haha. But I need to experiment more cos I think it only peeled off cos a bit of gel reached my cuticle part (should only be on nails) so it lift a bit at that part.
The neverending struggle to have pretty nails while also doing stuff with your hands.

Hahaha. Super!
OMG what a collection! I am not huge on nails but just last week, I want to get into this nail thing because I am going to put NFC chip in the nail. Also, what kind of glue that you're using to attach the nails? my concern is mostly that the nails will fall apart quickly if I am doing chores or cooking.
I just googled what NFC chip is. WHAAAT?? Are u living in 2050 there in Indonesia already? damn some cyberpunk shit hahah.
I use nail glue like this. They stick well as long as you prep the nails good and make sure there's no oil and such before you apply. I only tried using glue when my fake nails fall apart and I want a quick fix, but I haven't really tried using it as a "base" or direct on top of the nail so not sure how long they would last. As far as I remember, it lasts for like 2 days even when I do chores, but that's cos it was just a quick fix.
Thanks for the shoppe link! that's faster. Also yeah, NFC chips/stickers on fingernails are pretty old. Like this one: https://www.hackster.io/news/how-to-embed-nfc-chips-into-your-acrylic-fingernails-for-unlocking-your-phone-and-much-more-51ea87d6a169 it has been around for 3 years. Though, one of the use cases was for unlocking the phone. I got interested because there's a saloon in Dubai that does it. The NFC chip will show the social media profiles which is advancement for more than just unlocking phone. NFC chip sticker is also cheap; I didn't know that it was going to cost a few cents. It's a fun project and I think you should try it out since you practically have the nails and the glues :D
Wow I've never heard of it really. Haha. But maintenance is probably not easy as most nails last at least 3-4 weeks. My concern is more on protecting it lol
complete and great equipment
Thank you! It is haha
