How do you feel after putting all your time, effort and energy writing from a scratch and later found out that someone else has copied and pasted all your written work without your permission or license.
This is a criminal and bad act which discourages good writers and it's termed "plagiarism".

According to Merriam-webster plagiarism is the act of using another person's words or ideas without giving credit to that person.
I myself say that plagiarism is a criminal act carried out by some lazy or none creative writer hence taking advantage of their victim knowledge without their permission or acknowledgment.

EFFECT OF PLAGIARISM.
As mentioned earlier, plagiarism is an act of knowledge theft, it's the act of using someone piece of work without crediting him/her. This act has many effect both on victim and the plagiary.
Below are some effects of plagiarism.
1: This makes the plagiary less creative and lazy, remember, in today's world creativity and hard work matters a lot, and when people discover that you lack this quality in you, they tend to chose someone better over you.
2: Plagiarism discourages the victim from writing down more piece work: most writers put all their effort in writing, hoping to enjoy the fruit of their labor afterward, but when their write up is been plagiarized, it exposes it to more people who are not willing purchase it, letting them get it free hence leaving the writer with no profit made from his effort.
3: The victim glory is giving to someone else who made no effort in the piece of writing.
4:Academic repercussions: all student are expected to learn on their own time and to honestly make their grade with no cheating. If you engage in plagiarism, their are due sanctions that awaits you: like losing your academic admission from the institution, failing that particular course, and ineligible to participate in any scholarship programs.
5: contribution to a nation underdevelopment: As a student, the society is looking up to you for problem solving and making your society a better place, when you participate in plagiarism there are higher chances you will be derail from your career making you to lose focus on your goals and your plans for the society.

Conclusively, since we all know that plagiarism is a knowledge theft, therefore we should try as much as possible to avoid any form of plagiarism in anything we do. Knowingly or unknowingly there is consequences for plagiarism and students are assumed to have known this.
When you make use of someones piece of work try as much as you could to cite and credit him/her.
Avoiding plagiarism improves your academic career, saves your reputation and maintains you as a honest citizen which gives you more opportunities to secure the job of choice.
