Why thank you, I greatly appreciate you saying so. I'm not one of those intellectual-types, I just call it how i see it and put it into words the best I can. Midway should rock! More action than 1917 I think...Aircraft carriers, planes, battleships...What's not to like? :)
why is it so fun to watch war movies? what is that? we all love them? ha. we are weird us humans!
I watch them because it punctuates the history I read about and research. Movies are rarely historically correct, but they bring the images to life and add an extra perspective I think; For me anyway.
War is brutal and not a lot of fun at all, but for those who never serve the closest they may come is a movie or TV show like Band of Brothers or The Pacific for instance. If it raises awareness for those that take it upon themselves to put themselves at risk for others then I think it's a good thing. Too many people forget, or disrespect, veterans in my opinion. But maybe I'm biased.
