RE: Steem: Softforking, exchanges, security and mining ninjas

in OCD5 years ago

Ninja mined stake was not burned, no trusted body (foundation?) was created to manage it. Softfork has (likely temporarily) frozen these tokens.

But - what is the vision? Are witnesses to unlock these funds based on Justin's word? Such that it rolls on (with all the uncertainty) like during Ned's Stinc?

I haven't seen any discussion on the future, or any proposed solutions for ninja mined stake.

(I should have written a separate post, but nobody's going to read it, this way maybe the problem will get the attention of at least one person)

Sort:

No, it wasn't burned, but probably should have been once the chain was stable, at least most of it (I wrote about this years ago). A foundation is likely open to corruption anyway.

  • What would be interesting is if it all got airdropped to holders with a longer locking up period as stake. Just to distribute it.

The conundrum is, what to do now. Perhaps more will come out after the March 6th meeting.
