Part 01 - Message to Orvus
Dipping his quill into the ink for the final time, the old man finished the letter with a fervour, and hastily signed his regards. He shifted back the hand-carved, ornate wooden chair into the sunlight from the window and stood up. Stretching his back, he let out a yawn followed by a sigh as he rolled up the letter and tied it with some twine. Walking to the rear of the residence, he approached a wooden door with intricate carvings of leaves and berries, then opened it to stairs which lead down to a deck outside.
"Kogg!" he shouted, followed by a whistling call that echoed throughout the forest canopy. "Silly bird. Now, where did you go off to?" He walked to the edge of the deck and looked down at the forest floor below. It occurred to the old man that Kogg may be off searching for lunch, so he walked underneath the nearby branch and looked up at it. "Aha, a cicada! I thought I heard you while I was off writing my letter. Trying to be quiet now, are we?" After plucking the cicada from the tree branch, he returned to the edge of the deck. "Kogg! I have a cicada for you! Come and get it!" shouted the old man.
As the echo of the old man's call to lunch faded, he heard a faint cawing in the distance. It grew louder and louder. "There you are, Kogg."
A jet-black raven of considerable size emerged from beneath the deck, ascending from below. Kogg let out a cooing caw as he landed on the railing and bobbed his head a few times.
"Look what I have for you Kogg. It's a cicada!"
Kogg cocked his head and stared at the bug, then let out a mighty caw before taking it from the old man's palm. Appearing satisfied with the snack, Kogg was asked a favour.
"I need you to deliver this letter for me,"—pulling it from his cloak pocket—"to Orvus on the other side of the island."

The art is oftentimes related to the story. Not always, but when it is it often closely depicts a scene within a written part/chapter. The art is often modified slightly many dozens of times and later turned into a GIF to give extra life and energy to the scene.
For example, the art from part one of the story is below.
Other art that's not story related is somewhat less common, but here's an example.

The vast majority of what's left is Poetry and Haikus.
Here's a poem of mine that's one of my favourites. :)
Ancient Journey - The Matching Piece
Good Morning
to the search for the matching piece
as the dawn breaks over the horizon
crawling into your soul's shadowed valleys
dream-laden muscles excavate you from slumber's embrace
arise in the vine-woven hammock
to the beat of a rested heart's rallies.
A cold forest floor greets your feet once more
blurred vision focuses sluggishly in the distance
the heat of the day reveals itself in the shade
heart's hinge like doors on a frame with no face
persistence betrays the old feverish rust
while each step towards love is a silent crusade.
Good Afternoon
to the meal for the body that got us this far
tired shadows tucked in under their source
while cold rivers busily rush somewhere removed
and soreness comes to visit and claims its' place
coarse are the hands that still climb
the mountains reach into the sky unmoved.
A blessing to the rivers for a chilled drink
sights unseen from whence they came
a passing whisper says forward is the way
to sprint now would betray your heart's pace
tame is a mind that's calm in the flurry
strong is a heart that gives not into dismay.
Good Evening
to the shadows that had their fill of rest
tired souls already grasping at a fresh start tomorrow
others will press onward in the age old search
where a story of success will fill hope's empty space
undertow of despair wears down the hinges for many
daylight fades quickly now while Sun seeks horizon's perch.
A smile at the Sunset and nature's colourful symphony in the sky
clouds morph and drift indifferent as we toil at day's end
tempted by a brisk breeze to break from exploring
abandoned time irretrievable and lost without a trace
tend to your wounds onward into a quiet dusk
imagining who it is that fits into every coming morning.
Good Night
to today and all of you who found the strength to try
soul-mates where ever they may be under the stars
may this ancient journey bring you to a fulfilling conclusion
and stories full of warmth to retell by the fireplace
scars faded into obscurity next to a soul that fits
a calm so comforting in the absence of exclusion.
A greeting to the place where you rest your head at night
tired eyes seek the illusion of dreams in the dark
whether found or not for a moment your worries cease
tired body tumbles back toward slumber's reembrace
embark for the shore of another happy chapter
because the search ongoing or over brings the mind peace.

More To Come...
So that's a summary to give you an idea of what to look forward to.
Here's a link to Part 35 of the story
which contains links to all previous parts at the end of the post.
I'm looking to get back to writing poetry more often.
