I think in part to share art, Mark territory but also be counter culture and in a way “stand up to ‘The Man’”
Lots of reasons - I’ve never done it. I appreciate the color and also think there’s a big difference between tagging and ad hoc murals

I was chatting with a tagger on Twitter. I understood his reply as tagging being negative art where the effect is to fight against private property? and call attention to bad socioeconomic realities. The more answers I got, the more questions I had, and I still can't say I understand it.
