Every year in June there is a big cycling race for promises in our village.
Although we can follow the race on TV, we can also stand on the side of the road to watch them pass.
Today, June 4, 2022 meant the "Heistse Pijl 2022", so a helicopter above our houses all afternoon, roads closed, and many people on the way.
And for tonight success is assured with the afterparty. The paying guests (2,000 euros for 4 people) were able to enjoy a walking buffet in the afternoon, experience the arrival, and still party until the early hours.

And of course we could follow everything on the TV screen.
A young cyclist won the race today. Mark Cavendish was on the third place! Sorry Mark! ;-)
I prefer to follow on the TV screen, because you can follow well there, especially if you know the area.
Next to the track you see the race pass a few times, but that is soon over.
How do you prefer the experience of a cycling race? Are you going to watch next to the track, or are you also sitting in front of the TV just like me with a fresh beer?

twenty years ago i would have said i prefer to take part .... but today, like you, i prefer to watch it on tv with a nice cold beer next to me !! prost !
