I really like this idea! I believe @treeplanter ran a tree planting initiative on Steem, but it's not active on Hive and transitioned to a voting bot a long time ago. I'm happy to see a much better alternative!
Maybe it'd be nice if you also accept direct transfers as donations! That way, anyone that wants to compensate CO2 in bulk, perhaps after taking a flight, can just send you some HBD or Hive directly. That's a lot easier than writing content that'll receive $100 worth of upvotes ;).
For a future post it might be a good idea to provide a statement on how you'll use the voting power of @reforest. You already mentioned it in your post: this is a blockchain, so if you provide your intentions, we can verify if you're adhering to them.

I'm very grateful that you liked our project and will consider your suggestion in the future.
I never mentioned direct donations because I wouldn't want people to label me as the classic "give me money".
I want to allow everyone to donate part of their reward so that they don't have to take anything out of their pockets! However, in the future, when I have had a chance to show you that we are really following the mission, we can evaluate direct donations.

They stole steem from me and I have tried to contact them many times with no luck :c
Yeah, I had the same impression. I never had a fantastic feeling with them. Either way, it's no longer active on Hive, so it's good to see a better alternative pop up!
It worked fine on steem even tho we did knew of they planted any tress.
