I'm completely transfixed by these accounts! What amazing notes you kept. I'm sure the days were much more full, but a short paragraph noting the major happenings of the day is such a great diary methodology. It's so easy to make time for that small effort, and then you don't quit after a few days because it feels like a chore!

It’s kind of strange reading about the lives of aristocratic Russians when everyone around me is speaking Spanish. If I ever go to Russia, I’ll have to bring a copy of One Hundred Years of Solitude or Don Quixote.

I love this. I see that @owasco pulled this same quote too. But it bears repeating. So clever!
