A Noob's bumpy Way to Fame and Fortune... or to wherever it will take me

Hey there Splinters,

a warm welcome to the very beginning of my upcoming blog series "A Noob's bumpy Way to Fame and Fortune" - I hope one day, we can consider this piece the gold foil legendary alpha among the Splinterlands blog posts 😄 (a noob still might be allowed to dream).

Let me breifly introduce myself to give you and idea who is behind the blog and what my agenda is:

The Noob behind this blog

I have been an avid gamer since my childhood - well, days that lie decades behind. In the early 2000s, when increasing internet speeds made reasonable e-gaming possible for the first time, I regularly spent the nights during my study years playing Civilization IV - finishing second in the European Championships as my best result. However, stuff of course did not pay my bills; so I had to look out for a "seriuos job". 🙂 Thus, I tried to combine my passion for gaming with a job that allows investing in this passion:

Today, when I am not fighting my way through the Splinterlands, I am a legal counsel and law professor. Intellectual Property and IT advice so far has been what earns the crust. Last year during the holiday season, I helped a client to set up one the world's biggest bitcoin mining operations. This catapulted me into the world of cryptos. Since then I have definitely learned more than in two decades before and finally also landed in the Splinterlands 🙃

Sharing my adventurous way through the Splinterlands with you

I started Splinterlands with the beginning of the Voucher drop for the Chaos Legion presale phase 1. To me it appears that it was a pretty good time to begin. It allowed time to get used to the game mechanisms - and to learn from mistakes I made early on - before the whole Chaos Legion hype had fully gotten up to speed.

In the future, I would like to address my block primarily to beginners; helping to avoid mistakes where I have made them and to do what lawyers like me think they can do best anyways: explain how to do things more effectively. 😉 As it is clearly Chaos Legion crunch time currently, I will for the start focus on topics around the new card series. I am happy I got my hands on a few hundred packs so far (and I could not resist to build a level 3 Doctor Blight), allowing me to now easily play in the gold ranks without the need to rent cards anymore. 😍 As I hope to grow my insight with every additional match I fight, I am eager to share my experiences with the new cards and discuss the best investing strategies (buying cards, packs, vouchers or just wait until the end of the presale?).

My next blog post will be a deep dive into the metrics of the new Chaos Legion promo legendary card, Doctor Blight - priceless or just overpriced? Stay tuned, Spliters and game on!
