Its almost 2 years ago since I bravely marked my start in blogging on steemit and ulogs by the influence of a great classmate of mine. He introduced me to this kind of realm and help me wander through it all. But I was able to stop making some entries when I became busy juggling my personal, academic and other businesses in my life.
Today, we have different varying degrees of quarantine life and mine makes me want to try and be back in this field. At this moment, I am more than happy and excited that I am back translating my thoughts into words and sharing contents in this platform.
Someone might asks, "Who's this little girl messing around hive?" so i think it would be nice to start with a little sneak peek about me and my life.
I am Jenny Mauring who lives in Mandaue, Cebu City Philippines, 19 years old and soon will be no longer a teenager. I am a lady with light in her eyes, love in her bones and a sucker of artistry and creatives.
I am a self taught artist, if you consider me as one. Most of the time, I play around with graphite pencils, watercolor pencils, color pens and ballpens.

So, I've searched for a reference photo of this and tried to do it. I used my FaberCastell Watercolor Pencil, a brush and my sketchbook. I find it very fun and exciting since I'm still new in watercolor portraits.
Here is a portrait of Taylor Hill who is an American model and actress. I'm still using the same materials but this took longer time than the previous one to finish.
For the past days, I downloaded an artbook named "Sketch Now, Think Later" which is about urban sketching. There are a lot of illustrations to practiced with and the book will bring you to different places to draw, discover and marvel.
Since portraits are my weakness, I tried to search some good books about it only using some graphite pencil. This is an old man portrait that I really love. I find this as a good warm up to improve my skills. I am also looking forward to present my versions of drawing from that book.
Ballpens are everywhere it is our go to when we usually write so everybody own one including myself. This is a scribble of three eyes using a ballpoint blue pen. I genuinely find this very challenging since you cannot erase when you already marked your sketchbook unlike pencils where in you can just redo it when you feel there's something wrong.
I am the only daughter of my loving and little uptight parents. Plus, the one and only sister of my naughty, messy and nasty three brothers.
I am a student in Cebu Normal University- Main Campus who wishes to complete the program of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science, to cut it short, I want to be a teacher someday. Isn't it amazing and exciting to be part of the students' learning experience? Yes, it is but I strongly believe its more than that.
I am a friend to some and strangers to many. Sometimes they find me too loud or too silent but most of the times they say that I am funny. It makes my heart flutters everytime I made them flash their beautiful perfect smile or even pleading me to stop talking because they can't help laughing and it makes their stomach hurts so bad. College has been good to me in my first year. I've met diverse, beautiful and amazing people and some of them became my awesome and crazy squad.
I love going out with my families, friends and acquaintances. Most of the times we usually do karaoke which means singing at the top of both our lungs, or snatching the microphone of someone because she entered a good song or using the only microphone and singing in unison.

When my friend told me about Hive through messenger at midnight, I cannot stop thinking about it and the things that I want to do. As crazy as it sounds, I even slept 4 am after knowing the Hive community. It makes me giddy, excited and nervous at the same time. I want to use Hive to become my outlet to meet new friends, learn from other hivers and share what I have. I am not good in constructing my words so this will toally help me to improve my writing capacity.
In the future, I think most of my contents will be about art- watercolor paintings, doodle, quick sketches, portraits and such. But also I would gladly open other doors and try to spend time in that room for a little while like travel, motivational and daily blogs.
