Hi there, I'm Jolyn Barcibal, a 25-year-old from Negros Occidental, Philippines. Life's given me unique challenges and chances that have made me strong. Since 2019, I've been a single mom, gaining valuable experiences and lessons. These have built my determination and commitment to creating a bright future for me and my child. I approach each new chapter of life with optimism and a goal to make a positive impact on the world around me.
Life is full of surprises and difficulties that test us. My story is about being strong, deciding to learn and work after leaving school while expecting a baby. I've gone through ups and downs to build a better life for my child and myself.
My life's story started unexpectedly when I found out I was pregnant while still in school. This was a crucial moment where I had to make a difficult choice. Unsure of what to do, I decided to focus on the developing life inside me. I chose to pause my education temporarily and concentrate on taking care of the growing baby in my belly.
As my journey continued, I started showing determination and unwavering commitment. The road I took was tough, with many challenges that pushed my determination. However, my strong connection to becoming a mother motivated me. I focused on gaining knowledge and improving skills to build a better future for my child and me. This phase brought a significant change. I moved from just being a student to having a complex identity as a learner of life and a future mother.

Becoming a mother brought a deep change to my life. This journey had moments of happiness and sadness. When my child's father left, things changed a lot. I became a single parent, facing different challenges. I dealt with various difficult emotions and had to be strong. I was determined to overcome these challenges and not let them define me.
During this tough time, my parents became a strong support. Their constant dedication and unwavering presence were like a lifeline, helping me in uncertain times. Their strong support for us became the foundation for rebuilding my life. With their help, I started a journey of self-renewal, blending my dreams and goals for my child into a story of growth and recovery.
When my child was born, I felt a strong determination to create a better future for both of us. Despite the difficulties, I decided to continue my education. Balancing taking care of my child and studying was tough. But I was committed to building a future with better opportunities and success, and that commitment drove me forward.
As I managed being a mother and studying, my journey showed how strong my beliefs were. My daily life was a mix of sacrifice, determination, and unwavering dedication. Balancing studying at night and taking care of my child in the morning became something I excelled at. Switching between academics and parenting became my skill. Every challenge I faced tapped into my deep motivation to create a future full of new possibilities.
Starting my first job marked the beginning of a new and transformative phase in my life. Despite the challenges of distance between work and home, my strong determination to secure a good future for my child kept me going. I overcame obstacles to ensure their needs and opportunities were met with unwavering dedication. My mother became an invaluable support, helping me balance work and parenting. Still, being apart from my child was a painful sacrifice that reminded me of the challenges even as I moved forward.

Life is full of experiences. I found my passions that make my world colorful. I enjoy reading books, playing video games, and trying new foods while traveling. My interests have created a fulfilling life that I'm eager to share with you.
- Books hold a magical charm, where words take you beyond the ordinary and into new worlds. When I read, I become an unseen part of stories, experiencing the characters' lives and feelings. Whether it's a fantasy, romance, or mystery, books offer boundless adventures. Each book is a gateway to uncharted territories of emotions and thoughts.
- Writing, such a lovely art! It's how I capture passing thoughts and emotions in my mind. Writing lets me express myself, craft stories, and share my views.
- Video editing is where I explore my creativity, weaving moments into compelling stories. Like a writer, I shape scenes, pace, and emotions for a captivating tale. Video editing feels like conducting a symphony, blending clips, transitions, and effects for a specific mood or message. Whether it's a travel vlog capturing a new place or a gaming montage of triumph, I love creating visual stories that connect with others.
- Video games provide me comfort and excitement, especially cozy ones. Imagine a rainy day, a cozy blanket, and a soothing game where I can relax and explore slowly. These games are like a retreat, a virtual haven where stress fades as I lose myself in charming worlds or calming adventures. It's more than entertainment; it's creating a peaceful digital space.
- Traveling is a sensory adventure, especially for my taste buds. Discovering new places means enjoying unique foods and experiencing flavors that delight my senses. Whether it's savoring street food in lively markets or dining in classy restaurants with a view, every meal tells a flavorful tale. The link between food and culture is clear, and with each bite, I'm reminded of the diverse world we live in.
WHY I JOIN HIVE?
I joined Hive with a clear goal: to connect with others and enhance my writing. The appeal of interacting with diverse people and learning from them was strong. I want to share knowledge and improve as a writer by talking to other Hive members. In the future, I see myself promoting Hive to others and building excitement in the community. While I'm still learning about Hive, I'm not sure how quickly I'll get noticed. But I'm dedicated to exploring Hive and bringing happiness through my content.
My life shows how different experiences and interests shape a journey. The happiness I get from reading, gaming, storytelling, and trying new foods has broadened my view, promoting creativity and self-discovery as I go along.
Furthermore, the insights life has given me about the connection between love and sacrifice have deeply influenced my journey. The obstacles I've encountered have become opportunities to build resilience I didn't know I had. Though my path has been tough, every challenge has strengthened my determination and worked toward a brighter future for my child.
