RE: Why wouldn't someone join Hive?

in OCD5 years ago

Since we don't want to store or even see any keys, we operate with something called posting authority which is granted through Hivesigner once when linking the account, the user can then keep logging in as he is used to (e.g. with Google login or Email) and we broadcast to Hive in the background. Since we don't want to store the users private keys, unfortunately there is no way around the user storing the key himself when he creates his account, but at least he doesn't need to use the key for interacting with TravelFeed.
With all the changes, we haven't moved our old Steem account creation to Hive yet, but linking to Hiveonboard is just as good and users can link a Hive account at any time, also directly after signing up. Or if they have an existing Hive account, they can sign up with that directly.
Great to have you back on the TF Discord, will send you a message in a minute
