It's a great idea, I'm glad to see someone has something like it up and running. However, if I have to sell Hive, it's for food, fuel and rent. I don't buy much else, so it would not help those who really need to cash out of sell their Hive. We would still need to sell to survive. Also the geographical distance between other Hive members might limit the items one could offer or sell. Unless it were online goods and services of course.

Well if crypto takes off like I think it's going to, I think it shouldn't be hard to convince your landlord or local farmers to start using hive, especially if they can use it for trade rather than get involved in blogging etc. and maybe theyd wanna start blogs too.
What if you earned money for other work on hive and had more than you needed for life? Then if you wanted to pay for some kind of service you can do it on hive.
I agree the distance is a problem which is why it'd be much easier with 10k users in one city. I think that's possible in Venezuela and Nigeria though. We already have a core community and the way the world is going, a lot more people will be interested in Hive, and this kind of app will make it more feasible to handle the large influx of people who may be looking to supplement their income and might want to cash out, especially if they could onboard their sources of food etc.
Yes as crypto take off we can onboard more people to Hive, which has great throughput of tps as well as no fees. Hive is a perfect platform for mass adoption of a cryptocurrency.
