Last weeks I posted several small watercolor portrait works made on canvas.
For the past few days IO was working on a new one so I kept process to share it here.
It's small canvas 20X20cm size, and those who follow my work may noticed that square shape is one of my favorite.
Somehow I "swim" in it good.
First is a pencil drawing you can see well until it starts to be covered with color. During process sometimes some lines are erased, but it happens later.
Like when painting watercolor on paper you need to wait for some parts to dry well so you can see how color made some small spots if you want to continue building them more.
For me it's essential since I use a lot of water with color to make small ponds that dry in nice shapes.
For this piece i used hand made paper with texture I bought long time ago. Wail that is covering part of her face gave me idea to use this paper to give some 3d sense to work.
Since the paper is thin I used glue for wood, diluted with water it easily sticks to paper.
Few steps to give some final touch.
And final look!
Thank you all!
great painting!

Thank you!
Excellent technique. I enjoy the wispy realism of the portrait.
