when you talk about love, there are lots of narratives going on about it. we hear about what love is supposed to be, we watch about what love is supposed to be, we think about what love is supposed to be, and then we experience the supposed love and we begin doubting what love truly is. I've never really been able to wrap my head around that word?,feeling?,or would I rather say emotion. what I watch in movies about love, what I read about love, what I hear about love, all seems extremely different from what I see been portrayed as love in real life.
So I get confused and really wonder what really is LOVE? Growing up I was thought that God is love, 1 John 4:16; the love of God for humanity that made Him send His son Jesus Christ to die for humanity John 3:16 and the love of a family; the love I feel and share with my parents and siblings and then relatives, friends, outsiders, I'm not sure where to classify these kind of feelings
Some say agape others philia. Then growing older I got exposed to a different kind of love Romantic Love they say. I hear it's different from the others, it involves so much passion and sexual attraction. Google defines it as; a feeling of love for, or a strong attraction towards another person, and the courtship behaviors undertaken by an individual to express those overall feelings and resultant emotions. But It does comes off as lust to me at times because I notice most people are only involved for sexual fulfillment. It seems Love is a gate way to ask for sex in reality or maybe I can say from my experience. When a guy claims to love you ,next thing he's all touching and demanding you both have sex to express the supposed love.
Because according to him that's an essential way to express Love. But is that what love is really all about?, is that how it should really be?,why do I feel I am about to be used when you claim to love me?, when I read about love in novels I see them giving their everything it's like a mixture of everything agape, philia etc even in the movies, it builds this idea about what love is supposed to be but surprisingly in reality it doesn't seem anything like that.
I had a discussion with a friend and he was telling me how he has been in three different relationships before and he loved all three girls and the girls were also in love with him but they all left him to get married to someone else later on in the relationship because he wasn't financially stable and they are still cool with each other they interact like family.
How does someone love more than a person. I hear people say once you really love a person you can't ever love someone else again but people still go on from loving a supposed lover to loving someone new. can we now say they never really loved the ex lover or love changes?.
What really is love? How do you really know you are in love or you are really being loved sincerely? This is a question I have never really found a perfect answer to. Some say when you are in love you will just know it, feel it because it just happens. others say when someone loves you, you will just know you won't need anyone to tell you because you will be able to feel it. Could it just be an imagination or something?
What do you have to say about it? Does it really exist?.
Nice write up
Love make the world go round
Thank you🥰
