[PW# 8] Seeking for the "Truth" and "Justification" with the right "Microscope"

Hello @ocd Lovers.

Well, I am trying to discuss two words right now, this is about Truth and Justification. Although these words are taken from one word (read: true), but there is a different discussion about this. According to the theory of language, truth is a statement that can be proven by true logically or can be recognized by everyone. Then how about justification? Justification is a statement made as if it were true, by quoting various propositions and reasons for the things that cannot be proven logically or not be acceptable to all parties. In general, Truth and Justification talking about reviews human nature which sometimes cannot accept "truth" and instead seeks the "justification" to support the failure argument to reach the truth.

a man with Microscope

There is an interesting story, where a man who was walking in the market and saw a crowd in the corner of the market, after he approached it, he knows there is a trader who was showing off a sophisticated invention, the name of this tool is the microscope. The man very interested in the tool and tried it. After using this tool, he finally knew the deepest segments of rose petals and knew how the beauty of small diamond sparkles. All because of that microscope. Without thinking for a long time, the man bought it and brought it home.

At home, the first thing he tests is a few objects around him using a microscope. Until he tried to look the chilli sauce he liked closer. He found a surprising thing. He knew there were small worms in the chilli sauce. The man was stunned for a long time and he realized the true condition of these chilli sauce. Finally, the man tried to get up and he walked approaching the microscope slowly, and ... he took the microscope and shouted loudly, slamming it until broke and threw it far into the trash.

Maybe, the story above happens to us when we look for "truth", but when we get the "truth", we turn it into "justification". Like the man above is looking for the truth of few objects so he can see the truth from the deepest parts of an object, but when the truth is revealed from the object he likes and he does not like the result, then the man then blames the truth.

Here, the difference between truth and justification seems to be very mild. It's maybe because both words come from the same source of facts. But if we can accept the facts as they are then we make the facts as a "truth". Conversely, if we accept the fact only according to our wishes, then we just do "justification" of the fact.

Justification is like a cancer cell, where the justification in the first stages is blaming. Blaming is looking the mistake from other people or other things, for example when you feel confident because you have tried to do the best, but you say it does not work because no one supports you. Indeed, this is can mean you have tried but actually, you have not tried it as well as you said and arises the situation to cover it by blaming who do not support you. Justification like this can be corrected by asking yourself first. Are you really doing it with your best? or is there really no one who supports you? "

Furthermore, in the middle stage is a justification with excusing, justification at this stage is as if you accept that you have not been try for the best, because you don't have the resources that you needed to do that. For example, you do not have the cost and time to do work well. Justification in this stage can still be corrected by asking yourself. If you have money and time, are you going to do a better than what you are doing now?"

Finally, the most acute justification in the final stage is justifying. In this stage, you will justify your attitude or action, you don't need to and don't make the best effort because you don't know clearly about the results you will achieve. ”This justification is difficult to overcome because you take cover behind arguments that seem strong enough. But this can also be corrected with questions about when the results are clear, are you willing to do your best? "

Conclusion

Well, you can certainly conclude, if the more justification you make, the finer the shape. That is why it is often called justification. By giving excuses that seem right, you are basically trying to get your actions to find justification by those around you. In essence, the higher your desire to seek justification, the more reasons you use to justify it.

So, how about you? Are you going to look for truth or justification? Just remember the story above as a comparison for you. In this life we have and maybe you find a "microscope" that is used to see beautiful facts, we also accept it as truth. But when the "microscope" is used to see the unbeautiful facts, you are faced with two choices. The first choice is you throw away the microscope or the second one is you will stop eating the sauce filled with worms. So, keep your truth "microscope" even though you have to stop enjoying your favourite things.

Hopefully for the next post. The reflection that I uploaded here is actually about mindset. Of course, the photos above are slightly related, but black and white is a reflection of the two sides of truth and justification. Greetings from Indonesia. Blessing

You are so right here my friend. The biggest mistake is to throw the microscope away. There is always only one truth and there is no need to dress a false truth up in justification. Placing the blame on others is a fallacy, as you simply avoid your own truth. But so many of us are addicted to justifications.
The truth needs no justifications.
Blessings!

That's right sir @papilloncharity, the truth doesn't need justification. May we not be among those who are always seeking justification.

Tell it like it is my friend, not as you want it to be.
Once you start to alter the truth, it is no longer the truth.
Blessings to you!

sometimes we are better off not knowing the truth :)

why my friend ? in my mind, we must know the truth because the truth bring us to the faith. Right?

I know but there are times when we are better off not knowing the truth :)
