My name is Francisco Calderón I am 30 years old, inhabitant of the city of Maracay located in the State of Aragua, Venezuela, believer of the artistic action in all its dimensions, in art as a necessary food of culture and as a healer of the soul, from its individual and social perspective.
Since I was 14 years old I assumed my potential as a musician, specifically as a guitarist, starting my training with a friend who rented phones and playing Nirvana songs, then with the support of my parents, I was formed by a guitarist of boleros, waltzes and pasillos, I continued my training with friends in the squares, at school, in short, wherever we could sit down to exchange notes, melodies, chords, influenced by the restlessness of rock.
Mi nombre es Francisco Calderón tengo 30 años, habitante de la ciudad de Maracay ubicada en el Estado Aragua, Venezuela, creyente de la acción artística en todas sus dimensiones, en el arte como alimento necesario de la cultura y como sanador del alma, desde su perspectiva individual y social.
Desde los 14 años asumí mis potencialidades como músico, específicamente como guitarrista, iniciando mi formación con un amigo que alquilaba teléfonos y tocando canciones de nirvana, luego con el apoyo de mis padres, fui formado por un guitarrista de boleros, valses y pasillos, seguí mi formación con los amigos en la plazas, en la escuela, en fin donde pudiéramos sentarnos a intercambiar notas, melodías, acordes, influenciado por la inquietud del rock.
However my musical interest did not stop there, once a friend of the house heard me playing in the distance, he approached me and proposed me what I was waiting for, to go to the conservatory of music to start my formal studies of solo guitar, I went, I showed my persistence work with the guitar and there I was, a few years with great solo guitarists of the city, the country and the world.
I think it is important to emphasize that since I was a child I have been surrounded by musical creation, my father a music lover who looks for musician friends and forms tremendous 2-day musical gatherings, my loving and smiling mother, every time she sings she has an intonation like few others, an environment that provided me with sound elements for my training and passion for music, every being is him and his circumstances.
In all this came to my life also one more thing, the proposal to join a band, reggae, ska, rock .... It was called "tierra buena" and was formed by friends from high school, we continued to move forward building a sound, adding some people who were defining a Sonora proposal, which after a few years would become La comparsa Marabunta, with a proposal of heavy roots, reggae, dub, jazz and poetry fused, taking us to various important stages, such as reggae contest rototom Venezuela, international music fair Caracas, suena Caracas, festival otro beta, a tour of the East of the country and even a nomination for best reggae album (escuchen-la comparsa Marabunta) in the pepsi music awards. Great experiences, nourishing from different aspects, demanding, all were leading us to a sharing with excellent musicians and an interesting movement around the genre.
Things went on and a second album came, which is still in the oven.
Sin embargo mi interés musical no quedaba allí, una vez un amigo de la casa me escuchó a lo lejos tocando, se acercó y me propuso lo que estaba esperando, ir al conservatorio de música a iniciar mis estudios formales de guitarra solista, fui, demostré mi trabajo de persistencia con la guitarra y pues allí estuve, algunos años con grandes de la guitarra solista de la ciudad, el país y el mundo.
Creo importante destacar que desde pequeño he estado rodeado por la creación musical, mi padre un melómano que busca amigos músicos y forma tremendos juntes musicales de 2 días, mi madre amorosa y risueña, cada vez que canta tiene una afinación como pocas, un entorno que me facilitó elementos sonoros para mí formación y pasión por la música, todo ser es él y sus circunstancias.
En todo esto llegó a mi vida también una cosa más, la propuesta de unirme a una banda, de reggae, ska, rock... Se llamaba "tierra buena" y era conformada por amigos del liceo, seguimos avanzando construyendo un sonido, sumando a algunos y algunas que iban definiendo una propuesta Sonora, que al cabo de unos años se convertiría en La comparsa Marabunta, con una propuesta de heavy roots, reggae, dub, jazz y poesía fusionadas, llevándonos a diversas tarimas de envergadura, como por ejemplo reggae contest rototom Venezuela, feria internacional de la música Caracas, suena Caracas, festival otro beta, una gira por el Oriente del país y hasta una nominación como mejor disco de reggae (escuchen-la comparsa Marabunta) en los premios pepsi music. Grandes experiencias, nutritivas desde diversos aspectos, exigentes, todas fueron llevándonos a un compartir con excelentes músicos y una movida interesante entorno al género.
Las cosas así continuaron vino un segundo disco, que aún está en el horno.
I have had the opportunity to study education in the area of geography and history and I am currently developing a university career in intrumental execution of traditional popular guitar, a situation that has led me to know much more in depth the musical heritage of my country and the Latin American and Caribbean region.
I make a parenthesis in the story because I think it is important to mention that I recently got a musician that I met through another musician named Alvaro (who is a globetrotter out there), called Gopal (@naradamoon) who comes from other lands with a backpack of compositions in whirlwind and once between so much conversation that is assembled, with such a variety of topics, thinking about how not to stop the space for creation, he tells me about a possibility, the possibility referred to was hive, there the curiosity was awakened and here I am, with the effort to make art feasible as a way of life, covering contemporary forms of social connection, meeting other creators of the planet, collaborating and contributing to the digital art scene, this is what I want in hive.
This artistic dynamic has also led me to the world of production, as an organizer of cultural spaces with a collaborative vision in the city, with local impact projected towards the regional, national and international, this is how together with my life partner Yeniffer Sabaleta and a team of great creators we set out to carry forward the cultural experience of "El patio de María", where every week a scene is built for art, clearing, sharing and production, beyond the big important spaces, I also believe in the little things, from which the content is generated for bigger things, that's what I am, an incessant creator, whose premise is to live for art.
He tenido la oportunidad de estudiar educación en el área de geografía e historia y actualmente me encuentro desarrollando la carrera universitaria en ejecución intrumental de guitarra tradicional popular, situación que me ha llevado a conocer mucho más a profundidad el patrimonio musical de mi país y la región latinoamericana y caribeña.
Hago un paréntesis en el cuento porque creo importante mencionar que hace poco me conseguí a un músico que conocí mediante otro músico que se llama Álvaro (que anda de trotamundos por ahí) , llamado Gopal (@naradamoon) quien viene de otras tierras con una mochila de composiciones en torbellino y una vez entre tanta conversa que se arma, con tanta variedad de temas, pensando en cómo no detener el espacio para la creación, me comenta acerca de una posibilidad, la posibilidad referida era hive, allí se despertó la curiosidad y acá ando, con el empeño de hacer factible el arte como forma de vida, abarcando las contemporáneas formas de conexión social, conociendo otros y otras creadores del planeta, colaborando y aportando a la escena digital del arte, esto es lo que quiero en hive.
Esta dinámica artística también me ha llevado al mundo de la producción, como organizador de espacios culturales con una visión colaborativa en la ciudad, con incidencias locales proyectados hacia lo regional, nacional e internacional, es así como junto a mi compañera de vida Yeniffer Sabaleta y un equipo de grandes creadores nos dispusimos a llevar adelante la experiencia cultural de "El patio de María", donde cada semana se construye una escena para el arte, el despeje, compartir y producción, más allá de los grandes espacios importantes, también creo en las pequeñas cosas, desde las cuales se genera el contenido para cosas mayores, eso soy, un creador incesante, que como premisa llevo vivir por el arte.
