Hello everyone, today am going to talk about security on HIVE, this will be very important to our newcomer's. In every thing we do here, keeping safe our account is what matters most, securing your keys, securing your account and securing your wallet from hackers.
Let's rush down to tip, things needed to be done to keep our account safe from hackers.
For our hive account and keys to be safe, I think saving our key file to our disk and backing it up to the cloud storage, I think this will be the best and safer place for our keys
TIPS TO SECURE OUR KEYS ON CLOUD OR OUTSIDE CLOUD
when creating a cloud account, make sure to create a strong password using the combination of alphabet, numbers and symbols. Do not share to yourself on email rather use a password management app.
keep PC or phone updated: Older version of OS contains weak security, which means updated version of OS grants stronger security.
Enable encryption on device (PC or phone) when using a cloud storage. This will give you easy access if device is lost.
NOTE: When choosing a cloud service, choose the one that enables encryption.Using two factor verification: This will ask you to enter your finger print or a security code before having access to your files.
Using an Antivirus software or activation firewall (for PC users) will help to protect you from hackers.
Keep your account safe
Yes, security is of utmost importance in this business, so I agree with you. However, this post would fit better in Hive Learners. OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community.
We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post.
Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.
Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.
Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse!
Showing 404 error message
Should I cross post to hive learners?
Yeah, I get the 404 error message a lot these days. It is due to the recent Hardfork, I suppose. Give it some time or try to switch nodes if you can. They are going to solve it.
No, leave it there and post there next time.
