Since everything has been different for the last couple of months, I decided to celebrate my birthday differently as well. Instead of having a one-day-party, we celebrated it for a whole week without any guests. Perfect in my opinion!
Age grandma
It has almost been two weeks already since it was my birthday, the 29th of April to be exact. I turned 25 and normally that would be celebrated big. Thank god for me that wasn't possible this year. But to do make me feel like a birthday girl, @rubencress and his roommate decorated the whole house, including the garden. I even got my own birthday mug with a balloon attached to the handle. It made me feel like I was the birthday queen.
It didn't took very long until the presents appeared. I was given my own churro- and waffle maker, plus a machine that can peel and slice apples and potatoes. I was very surprised ans it almost made me cry, so sweet!
What's a party without pie?
In my family, I'm the one that's responsible for the pies/cakes for someone's birthday, including my own. Even though I didn't invite anyone, I still wanted to eat pie on my birthday. The apple pie that I make is always a winner and it was the perfect occasion to try out the machine that peels and slices apples. I never knew I missed something in my life, but now I know: that apple/potato machine... The apples were pealed very fast and the pie turned out perfect. Such a handy gift!
Party week
As I said, I don't mind 'celebrating' my birthday like this. Usually on my birthday, I feel like I'm just making sure that the guests are provided with food and drinks and I don't really have the time to sit down and have conversation with them.
That's why I'm glad that things went different this year. We left the house decorated for the whole week, we ate pie multiple times and we even drank champagne one night. I don't think my birthday could be celebrated any better and I might introduce this as my new way of celebrating for the upcoming years.
