Greetings my Hive people. It has been a while since my last update, very excited to be back and looking forward to sharing more of my exploits.
Thank you very much for all the heartwarming comments on my previous post. It took a lot putting it out there, but your kind words and messages have been comforting.
Since then I have been traveling. I took a trip to visit hubbylicious's @imwatsi country of birth, Zimbabwe. We then returned back to South Africa and continued to explore. I am looking forward to share these experiences with you in the coming weeks. Trust you will find the content very interesting.
The Zimbabwe trip challenged me in so many ways. My character was really put to the test, and I am amazed with myself. Certain cultural practices had to be done as a new bride gets welcomed into the family. Those include cooking outside with a 3 legged pot on fire, fetching water from the well and also dressing according to the tradition. It was very challenging, but it also helped me realise how much I really love hubbylicious. Being in a village with no electricity was very trying, but we made it. There was a very funny story also that I call The chicken hunt. We have to eat right, so hubbylicious had to chase after our supper. Hahahaha! best memory ever!!!
Below image is the local church in the village. It was built by his grandfather.
Finally our supper was captured, hahaha I for one did not expect him to succeed.
Not too sure if taking selfies with our supper was a good idea, but I guess it was a huge achievement.
It seemed like we were not going to eat till the next day, great workout. Believe me! this chicken hunt took hours.
We even had to climb on top of a tree to see how far the chicken had gone.
The food is finally ready to be cooked, happy days!!
Fetching water from the well, Makoti (bride) duties. not in my wildest dreams I tell you. Nonetheless it had to be done. What an adventure.
Sight seeing was the order of the day.
The most humbling experience, honor and privilege to spend time with Mbuya(Grandmother). Received prayers, wisdom and direction.
We are currently in Mauritius and enjoying the tranquility of the tropical Island. We are loving every moment of it and plan to camp here for a bit. With that being said, you can expect a lot of content of the various tours we have been taking on the island. What a beautiful sight, the most friendliest and helpful people i've come across. Needless to say but I am now compelled to brush up on my French dialect, Hahahaha! not a very easy task. Few snaps of the beach life, more will follow with detailed travel posts coming soon.
Mentoring young girls has been a passion for a long time and I have been able to achieve that through the Sister k foundation. A sisterhood established with the aim to assist women in realising their true worth, inspiring & equipping them to maximise their potential, and ultimately fulfil their purpose.
Be on the lookout for exiting news on the Hive development side. ladymwatsi and @imwatsi are cooking up a storm. That's all i can reveal for now.
That's it on the update. Ladymwatsi signing in and out.
Keep on Hiving. Happy Days!!!
