Last year I did a post on 5 interesting communities that I found on Hive. It takes a lot of time and effort to run a successful community and it's great to see that out of those 5, 2 are thriving on Hive, great work @rlathulerie and @soyunasantacruz.
This year, I have come back with 4 more communities that I like a lot. If you are not aware of them, hopefully you will find them interesting and give them some support.
Ice Cream Creations
https://peakd.com/c/hive-187379/created
the worlds variations of frozen desserts such as gelato, frozen yogurt, sherbet, sorbet, kulfi, snow cream, rolled ice cream and so many more." I didn't realise there are so many types of frozen desserts, like kulfi and snow cream I'm not familiar with. Need to ask my Snowpea to see if she knows what they are. When I was in Croatia for Hivefest recently, I noticed they have a lot of gelato stores everywhere, I literally had one everyday, and still haven't had a chance to post about it yet. This will be a good home for my post.I think this is a very underrated community by @coolmidwestguy. Maybe because I like ice cream a lot (does anyone don't?) and think it deserves more attention. The community covers "
Horsepower Herd
https://peakd.com/c/hive-100736/created
Recently I came across a new community called Horsepower Herd run by the self acclaimed motorhead adrenaline junkie @technicalside. The community may sound a little confused for some on exactly what it's all about. It took me a little while to connect till I remember horsepower is often used to refer to the power of a car engine!! However, the community is more than just cars. It's for anything related to something that generates horsepower or HP ( how apt that is for Hive!!!).
The community isn't very active at the moment, which is a pity because many of us have a car or motor cycle or scooter, I'm sure there are some interesting stories to share. I've got one cooking, it's about how a guy tried to scam me three times one evening during a road traffic accident. I plan to publish it over the weekend, get your popcorn ready everyone, because it's going to be entertaining.
Food and Culture
https://peakd.com/c/hive-109139/created
Food is one of the biggest genre on Hive, after all everyone loves food. I love it especially more when there's a story behind it, that's why I think the Food and Culture Community by @akipponn is such a good concept. Most posts on Hive are about people making meals or baking cakes, or reviewing a restaurant, I've written them before, but to be honest there isn't much life in them. Food and culture goes very much hand in hand. Culture influences food just as much as food influences culture. When you understand the story and influence behind the food, you are experiencing more than just eating, it becomes a journey through time and place.
Hive Collectors
https://peakd.com/c/hive-180658/created
And finally, this is a very interesting community created by one of my good friends on Hive @mipiano. I probably don't visit it as much as I should because every time I visit the community, I find some very interesting things that people collect. Did you know somebody has 85 pairs of ear rings? And someone collects death anniversary cards? Each month @mipiano has a collection topic, last month was keychain, there isn't one for October yet. I think she's busy in real life. However, you can still post about anything you collect whenever you want.
Last and not the least, like last year, I'm going to do a shameless plus with some of my own communities. I need to spend more time on them this year, in particular the last one, more on that in future, when I'm ready.
Train Spotting

Toys on Hive

The Loo Loo

Three Challenges
https://peakd.com/c/hive-100848/created
Hi from Hive
https://peakd.com/c/hive-104601/created
I have set a 5% beneficiary to each of the 4 community owners above, and this is the first time I've tried out the CommentRewarder function. If you can let me know your thoughts on these communities, or some of your favourite ones that would be great.
Yikes, horsepower's a tricky one. Wait, never mind, it's manpower I'm thinking of.
yeah, manpower is even trickier. What about womanpower ? 🙃
You are bang on with it being time consuming running a community. Thanks for these and I had not heard of any, mind you I cannot keep up with communities I am involved in already. I have cut back on which ones I subscribe to. Good luck to them all and I shall see if I can visit some.
There's quite a lot of decent communities around, too many choices sometimes
What a great way to spread the word about communities. I have another community that I'm thinking of creating, it's like whenever I write on this topic I have to put thought in it where to place it. I think I will recruit some help as I don't know if I want to run another one alone.
Speaking of Three Challenges I almost posted there today. I had an idea as this title: Three Aircraft, 3 Sore Spots, 3 Days. But than thought there's no opportunity for others in the community to write on this topic. So I went a different direction 😃
Thank you for mentioning my community. I from time to time (need to get back to it) look at the ice cream tags to let users become aware of the community. Not all but a fair amount remember and post there. Oh Gelato, not only is there temptation eating it, there's the joy of seeing all the different flavors everyone enjoys.
You can always twist the angle of a post to fit it into a community but still keep to what you wanted to write originally.
Look forward to seeing what new community you're going to create
A few days ago when you posted on Food & Culture I was looking at the community, but I didn't get around to subscribing. Today when I was preparing my meal I thought maybe I could write a bit more about our meals that way. I don't do the step-by-step stuff... you know?, I don't feel comfortable doing that.
I owe coolmidwestguy my first post about ice cream. I will do that.
I've been watching HorsePower and I don't know... maybe one day something will come up. It's good to know that there is such a corner geared towards those topics.
Thanks, really. What a nice thing you did in your first commentrewarder post. They are all excellent and role models in Hive. I like that you are always trying to help everyone. Thanks again.
There are many ways to write about food, we all love it so much, and I think Food and Culture is a great way in, to learn about the food, rather than how to cook it. Are you going to share some Cuban food with us? I don't think I've seen a Cuban dish before...
I think it's very important that we help and support one another on Hive, there are lots of people doing it, that's how the chain grows bigger and stronger. We all do our own little bit, you included of course!!!
Oh, I already know someone who will appreciate the Ice Cream Creations community by @coolmidwestguy! @ninaeatshere if you haven't already checked out this one, you have to do it... It's a perfect fit! 😃
Thanks for sharing these communities! All 4 admins are well-known, dedicated Hivians!
She beat you to it, got there last week already!!
A well managed community can usually be seen through the community owner, very strong correlation there
Of course, she did! 😃
Recently, I was almost completely "off-Hive" and it wasn't hard to beat me... 😃
She's posted there twice i believe. I found her awhile back searching the ice cream tag 🍦 😋
Hehehehe... I know she is an expert in that "matter" 😃
Thank you for introducing Food and Culture, @livingtaiwanuk! Really kind 😊
I was working on Vegan Japanese ice cream last months. I must post about it to Ice Cream Creations 🍨
I share your post to Japanese Discord!
Vegan Japanese ice cream? That's sounds interesting, I hope it's matcha flavour!!
I think your post is very appropriate for highlighting issues and concepts in communities that most of us have not even noticed, although I must say that the collectors hive I have already added and working on a post for it....
The food and culture hive right now I am sending it to a friend who sometimes makes very interesting and nice posts about recipes that are almost always accompanied by a story that has to do with the making of the dish, moreover, he tagged him to read his article...
@leopard0 ...I present you a community to write recipes linked to your story or to a story, for you who make it super nice.
In Hive there are so many communities that sometimes you get lost among so many, and sometimes we don't even know what they are about...
Thank you for making it known in a very explicit and interesting way.
🌻
I'm sure there are many other interesting communities that I haven't come across yet, there are too many around but some aren't my cup of tea, while some are abandoned by the owner. I hope sharing some here will give them a bit more exposure as we all move in different circles, often I only find out things when others reblog.
Hopefully @leopard0 will be interested in the Food and Culture Community, thanks for spreading the message
Sometimes I feel I should be more active in Hive. I visit a small number of communities, and even then I can't devote as much time to them as I would like to. When I do get involved I don't know how to do it superficially, I read a post, the comments, the replies, I comment myself (never in monosyllables).
It is a noble task to promote communities that do not have many visits, even when they have good content.
The food posts I have written (not many) I always publish them in the Hive Food community under the hashtag #Cocinandolosdomingos. I like to include more than just ingredients and the step by step, so I take the opportunity to tell a story or talk about customs of my country.
I appreciate the invitation, I wish I could fulfill it. Thank you.
It can be difficult to be on chain all the time when you have real life commitments, and that's perfectly fine. Whenever you have time, you can always pop back and engage or post as much or as little as you have time for
It's a pleasure to do it, sometimes we draw a blank without having a topic to post because we don't know many communities that are more in tune with our tastes.
Thanks to you.
🌻
Thank you, my friend for the invitation. 🌷
You're welcome, I know you don't have much time, but we need you here too, and I think this community suits your style very well.
Just enjoy.
🌻
Hi @livinguktaiwan 🥰, I appreciate the recognition and good publicity, I continue with the commitment and responsibility to maintain the @tattooworld community and I also take the opportunity to congratulate Rosa @rlathulerie who has done great.
Of the communities that you present today only two I did not know, all seem interesting to me, I have a post pending on the community of Toys in Hive and collections.
You already left me curious, that scammer didn't know who he was messing with, he tried 3 times, wow you have to read that post.
I haven't tried that new CommentRewarder option, although I do know what it is about. I like it when we move forward for the welfare of all.
Well done on maintaining your tattoo community @soyunasantacruz, your dedication is worth it.
The scammer is a really stupid guy and he certainly picked the wrong person to mess with. I'll post over the weekend and you can read my story then.
Look for to your toy post.
Sounds interesting! Thanks for pointing them out. Honestly, I'm not much for ice cream. It's usually far too sweet for me. But sometimes the mood hits.
That Hive Collectors group looks more up my alley. I'll have to explore!
I remember you collect pens, that would be perfect for the collector community, and I'd be very interested to see your collection as well
Hi, @livinguktaiwan! Grateful for the mention the first time and for the current recognition. As you say it's not easy to run a community and get it known, especially when there are so many amazing communities, but with effort, dedication and lots of love, we are moving forward.
Special hugs to my friend @soyunasantacruz, we started our communities together, and we are moving forward.
I promise to visit the communities you mention, I don't know them, I only saw the ice cream community once.
Once again thank you for the recognition. Hugs from Venezuela
Keep up the great work Rosa!
I long for the day when we have more users here and the communities really start growing and thriving. It's sad that so few of them are utilized. I know the Whisky community should be getting a lot more posts than it currently is. I think there are only about three of us who occasionally post there.
It's a bit of chicken and egg situation. A lot of people still post in communities based on how much visibility and rewards they think they can get even if it's not a good fit. And then some community leaders leave their communities to die... I'm guilty of that as well
As to the whiskey community, as a non whisky drinker, I'm pretty active there 😉
You definitely are one of the three I mentioned!
Funnily enough, I’m about to fetch myself a bowl of ice cream. Are you someone who would buy ice cream from an ice cream van on a horrid wet day while visiting a coastal town?? Asking for a friend.
Great round-up of communities and will have a look at the ones I didn’t know about.
Tell your friend there's never Vs bad day for ice cream even on a horrid wet day 😉
Excellent. That will be arranged!
Some interesting communities here ! I think my old motorcycle might qualify both for Horsepower Herd and Toys on Hive 😁
Big boys toys 😀
Actually I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a motor cycle community on Hive
It would be good if there was ! There are a couple of dead communities for it, but the best place so far is Hive Motors, where there's a certain amount of bike-related mechanic type posting.
Hive Motors is certainly a very active community, credit to the team, but I think it's always nice to have alternative options
Thanks for the mention😃
Yeahp I am a weird one! XD. Aren't We All!
Self acclaimed weirdo as well 😄
I'm glad you took on board some of the things we discussed
I have a couple of ideas for the community although I think it might be some time before I'll really bang off... Got some stuff to do around the house but at-least I've got my own little place to throw stuff around!
Greetings @livinguktaiwan ,
Thank you for this interesting post....I will be sure to visit these communities.
As you say what is not to like about ice-cream. ^__^
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
Everybody screams for ice cream 🍦 😄
Interesting topics! I'm guilty of not exploring communities that much, besides my usual ones. Thanks for sharing these!
I like to snoop around to see what's available as that helps to give me inspiration to write about different be things. Hopefully you'll find one or more that interest you
I shall now have to jig about something I am currently writing, now I see the forgotten train spotting blog. More work ho hum
I dropped my ball on my communities, need to drum up some interest again
go for it!
Interesting communities I honestly didn't know and so thanks
!discovery 30
It's good to hear that these communities are new to people, mission completed!! 😄
Ohooo, I'm already a member of the two community you mentioned here, Ice Cream Creations and Hive Collectors. Posted a few article in there too ╮(^▽^)╭
Those are very good communities!
Thanks for the suggestions!
Coming back to Hive after a bit of a hiatus, it's always nice to know about interesting new niches. We collect a lot of different things, so the Hive Collectors community looks particularly interesting. Hopefully these communities will be active.
Welcome back! There's always a lot going on on Hive which is nice, hopefully it will help to draw people back to be more active
Collectors community met my expectations and I found cute owls. :)
An owl man!!! 😉
Check out my comment on her owl collection ;)
'Don't move! This is a robbery.' I literally want to steal her entire collection xD
I wish I had a house with only an owl theme hahaha.
Food and culture looks interesting. Will check them out, thanks.
Food is always popular with people, hopefully it will inspire you to post there
Haven't visited food and culture yet .. seems interesting... Thanks for the list..
You're welcome, Filipino food looks very interesting, I imagine it's influenced by different cultures over time
I think the ice cream one is apt for halo halo , filipino ice cream dessert with a gazillion things in it if I remember correctly @jane1289
Yes yes.. one of my favorites in summer.. hehe
Collecting is a nice topic indeed, I follow.
It will be interesting to see more different collections from people on Hive
Leaving a comment to remind myself to check these out later, nice!
Yah!! The first comment on my my first commentrewarder post. Hopefully some of these communities may be your cup of tea. I mean who doesn't like ice cream and food 😋
My scale tells me I definitely do!
Wow I go I guess these communities are interesting,I will like to check them out.
All the same thank you so much for sharing
It's worthwhile posting in different communities to extend your network but don't post if you don't be know about the genre
Wow! I'll check out the new food community 🙂
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Food is always a popular one
Something to check out later with calm, great post. Be reading better later night for sure.
Hope some may interest you

I've just subscribed to Hive Collectors! I didin't know about that and it looks so amazing. Thanks for sharing with us these tips :):)
Your welcome. I'm sure many people have interesting or even quirky collections, too good not to share
