Hello all... Good night!
Fishing with a hook is a very fun and exciting thing.

This is what every young person who lives around the Pusong Reservoir often does on non-working days (holidays) such as Saturdays and Sundays.
Likewise with other adults, basically everyone, even myself, always does fishing activities which I make as a daily hobby, this activity has become a side job for some people because the results get are also adequate.

This hobby is very easy to access both in terms of tools and location of fishing spots, this is what makes all people around Pusong Reservoir really like this hobby.
If you do not have a special fishing rod, there is no reason to leave it, but around that location there are materials or tools that come from the natural surroundings to make fishing tools as the main capital in this activity.
You can take and process small wooden or bamboo trees to be used as fishing rods or fishing rods, while threads for fishing rods can also be accessed around locations where they are sold at very cheap prices.

Whereas bait as a fishing rod is also provided in the area by fishing gear hawkers in the form of live small shrimp or if you don't have enough money to get it you can look for it in the form of mud worms (kupret) in the fishing location area free of charge.
The location of fishing spots is also available free of charge in the area, the location of the reservoir adjacent to the reservoir is also a target location that is desired by every fish lover.

The fish that inhabit the location are also different, because the fishing locations are two places, the fish species that inhabit them are also different.
However, unfortunately the fish caught by the anglers cannot be photographed because today it is very quiet from the catch, this is due to strong water currents, so it is very difficult to fish.
The fish that inhabit fishing locations
𝕹𝖔 | Location in the reservoir | Location outside the reservoir | Size a | Size b |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Mujair | Grouper | P 16 cm | P 30 cm |
2 | White snapper | White snapper | P 30 cm | P 40 cm |
3 | Red eyes | Red eyes | P 20 cm | P 30 cm |
4 | Jeunadeu (black fish) | Jeudadeu (black fish) | P 15 cm | P 25 cm |
5 | Tiger prawns | Tiger prawns | P 10 cm | P 15-30 cm |
6 | Ranjungan crab and Bangka crab | Ranjungan crab and Bangka crab | 2 kg | 1-2 kg |

And some other seasonal fish that are not mentioned in the table. When looking at the catch obtained by fish and crab anglers, everyone really likes being outside the reservoir, because while fishing can see the beautiful scenery across the river with a very strategic and natural location.
The interest of people who crave for this location is not taboo but has happened since the location was formed. The enthusiasts have also been carried out by everyone from generation to generation since the location has not changed like today.

When you are bored or outside the reservoir you do not get any results, you can move from the original location to another location that is not far from the original location.
However, the catch is different from the one out there, because in the reservoir the water does not flow, even if it flows only at certain times, therefore the fish that inhabit the location are not as big as the fish outside the reservoir.

But the cool thing is that you can take advantage of the services of small fishermen by borrowing a wooden boat as long as the physical integrity of the wooden boat is maintained. Basically being on a wooden boat is very fun, you can do other activities such as seeing the location around the reservoir, seeing first hand the natural habitat in it or you can also see a flock of cranes that are doing their daily activities in looking for food.

The area of the reservoir with a size of almost 8 hectares is one of the locations inhabited by a variety of habitats for wild birds, such as:
- White stork
- Decorative bird
- Duck or fig
- Green-headed bird (Rajae Kualae)
- and many other wild habitats inhabiting mangrove tree locations for decades.

The small traditional wooden fishing boat parked in the reservoir is also one of the local fishing gear that always picks up fish in their own way, they work at night because the tool they use is one of the white shrimp nets (reukih) which has become a mandatory profession since hereditary.
It is very cool and pleasant to be in the wild, especially in the Pusong Lhokseumawe reservoir in Aceh Indonesia.
Thank you very much....
