Up until now that I'm almost 30, I hadn't hand a chance to run a marathon like run...πββπ
All my activities except the every night 4ks in high school when I was trying to get out of that fad body, all used somehow strength and speed conditioning.
Though now, it seems like the road to getting more kilometers in is coming in sight as a lot of my close friends have got in the endorphin habit...
Yesterday, I tried to test my lucks to see how far I can go as I had been years since I had had an endurance training.
We had to make lap around a pomegranate garden right outside our city which is very popular among the pro runners here.
The full lap is about 9Km. I mean 9k was no near to the expectations I had from myself.
I was thinking for the first time, I'd just try getting a 5k in , and that'd be good...
But apparently my hard headed brain doesn't like small stuff, and in the same time wasn't much ready for this amount of distance...
So me, and @navidjahanshahi started running together. Big thanks to him as he decided to slow down his pace to accompany me while I was running that mileage for the first time in my life.
3k in, my brain was starting to give me sings of weakness and fear. I had them all through out my lap. I was actually convinced to turn back, but I just couldn't take it to lose, or just not finish the lap, you know!
So with Navid's help I got the Kms up and flow got easier and more in control. So, I could managed to drag myself out of that hellish 9k!
For a starter, specially in my size, my stats weren't bad at all. And I'm actually very happy with my effort, but I want much more... π
Right after, we gathered, cooled down together, and went for a little bit of meditation to get the minds calm and peaceful...
And today, ready to hit it one more time... π
So, wish me luck!
Thank you for viewing my post. π
Peace! π
Wow, congrats on completing the run, I would pass out after 1km, haha.
Wait, you're doing it all over today as well? :D I admire you! :)
Hahahah! Thank you dear! Iβm actually on my way going thereβ¦ π
Man, you did very well, it's really more than something we expected for the first time. Congrats ππ
