Not one or two but three new smartphones have been presented by Xiaomi this Tuesday for its native China. The Redmi 10X 4G, Redmi 10X 5G, and Redmi 10X Pro 5G are here to grow their mid-high range family, with MediaTek and 5G hearts as their main features.

The new Redmi 10X surprise because they arrive just a few months after the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, successors to the well-known series. However, by dispensing with the last name "Note" they mark the arrival of a new family, with connectivity to the next-generation network as a differentiating aspect and main attraction.

This is the technical specifications of the members of the new Redmi 10X series:

Same design language, with slight differences

We can see that the family, although it has very marked differences on the inside, on the outside the three Redmi 10X are very similar and can be confused by the less trained eye. The differentiating details, on the front, are that the Redmi 10X 4G has a hole in the screen, and the Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro notch drop. In addition, the older models have a somewhat smaller lower frame.

On the other hand, on the back the differences are even more noticeable. All three models have the same square photo module design, but the Redmi 10X 4G integrates its fingerprint sensor just below four cameras. Meanwhile, the Redmi 10X 5G is left with just three photographic sensors, with the flash filling the remaining space, and the Redmi 10X Pro has four cameras and the flash underneath.

Going fully into the technical details, I also found some similarities, the main one in the diagonal that remains almost identical in the three models: 6.53 inches for the Redmi 10X 4G and 6.57 inches for the Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro, all three. with FullHD + resolution.

The difference comes in the qualities of the panels, IPS LCD in the smaller model, and AMOLED in the older ones, which allows the integration of the fingerprint sensor; HDR10 + certification is another unique aspect of 5G models. Of course, all three smartphones have Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Xiaomi trusts MediaTek for the whole family

Moving on to power, Xiaomi trusts MediaTek to bring its new Redmi 10X line to life, with differences. The Redmi 10X 4G has the MediaTek G85 chipset inside, the same as the Redmi Note 9, with eight cores up to 2.0 GHz and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. This piece is assisted by 4 or 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of storage, this time expandable up to 512 GB with microSD.

In the Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro, due to their connectivity to new generation networks, the MediaTek Dimensity 820 chipset, recently introduced, is integrated. This silicon heart has eight cores, with the power cores running at 2.6 GHz, Mali-G57 GPU. The Redmi 10X 5G integrates 6 or 8 GB of RAM with variants of 64, 128, and up to 256 GB of storage, and the Redmi 10X Pro only has a version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of memory. All three new Redmi 10Xs run with Android 10 and MIUI 11 coating ex-factory.

Moving on to the batteries, I found more differences. The Redmi 10X 4G boasts 5,020 mAh with an 18W fast charge, and the older models stay at 4,520 mAh with 22.5W fast charge in the Redmi 10X 5G and 33W in the Redmi 10X Pro, in all three cases via USB Type-C port.

We close this section with the additions of a 3.5 mm jack, FM radio, and infrared sensor in all three models, Bluetooth 5.0 in the Redmi 10X 4G and Bluetooth 5.1 in the Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro, which also integrates NFC.

Finally, let's talk about cameras. All three Redmi 10X 4G, Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro have a 48-megapixel main sensor and 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, with differences in complementary sensors:

  • Redmi 10X 4G: 2 megapixels macro and 2 megapixels for depth; and a 13-megapixel sensor for selfies.
  • Redmi 10X 5G: 2 megapixels for depth; and a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies
  • Redmi 10X Pro: 8 megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom and 5 megapixels macro; with a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies.

  • The most equipped is, of course, the Redmi 10X Pro with the addition of the 3x optical zoom and optical stabilization of the telephoto sensor.
