This place is located in Aceh, Indonesia, Southeast Asia. Since the Covid-19 pandemic entered Indonesia on March 22, this place has been closed and prohibited from being visited by tourists, as well as the people of Aceh. This Aceh tsunami monument was established as a form of respect to commemorate the victims of the Aceh tsunami in 2004, the Aceh tsunami tragedy has become sad and deep wound in the heart and mind, even the memory of the Acehnese people.
the Aceh tsunami monument is also a place or livelihood for residents around here, the residents take advantage of this monument to make a living, either by selling or by renting parking. however, since the pandemic came this place has just been reopened from two months ago, but the visitors are not as busy as the visitors before the pandemic yesterday, one of the traders here named Ahmad Th Allah said :
"The pandemic changed everything, today the pandemic is taking our livelihood, child. -Our children have to starve, and every day waiting for us to return to bring a bite of rice, even I personally have to find some other work so I can support my family ". "I as a visitor also feel very harmed by this pandemic, I feel that the Aceh tsunami monument has lost historical value and interest from local visitors, people more afraid to visit historical places like this, they prefer to visit and spend money at artificial tourist spots, as well as tourism centers, in the past, I still remember very well, before the pandemic, people were very excited to come here, because this is where the identity of the Acehnese was found in remembrance. history in this monument ", he said in
