RE: Consoling the gamer

in OCD3 years ago

This is one of the reason i do not have any game console, xbox or playstation. I do not have enough time for something like it. I like the ocassional game online, but the PC is enough for it. I deleted games from my phone, as i tend to become a bit obsessive. I am a firm beliver that my kids should not see phone or tablet for themselves as they grow up, at least until year 3-4-5. Today's technology is bad and addictive for kids.

I play words with Friends with one woman who is in her 70s. The games take days :)

We kept our daughter screen free for 3.5 years - until lockdowns and restrictions and she was home for 3 months, while my wife and I were working in a smallish apartment. Even now though, she barely watches anything and it is only on the PC - no phones, other than video chatting with family.

he skills needed to be a user are easy to pick up later. The skills needed to be a creator, are very difficult to get later. The first 3 years are very important.

Totally agree! 100%
