The most important factor that distinguishes Spontaneous Street photography discipline from many other forms of photography is that it aims to capture the moment. Therefore, the first shot you take in this type of shooting will probably be your best shot.
The more you go out and take photos in Spontaneous Street Photography, you will gain experience over time and start to shoot much better. By time, you apply your own tactics and experience to your photo shoot. Over time, your feelings and predictions improve. In fact, this is about gaining observation power rather than taking pictures. Nevertheless, it is okay to read a few suggestions that may be considered suitable for the initial phase.
- One of the things you should know is that it is important to act quickly in street photography. We should not waste time adjusting the camera, pointing at the scene we see and looking at from the viewfinder or from the rear screen. Of course, this is true if we plan to capture a moment. Otherwise, if we are waiting to photograph a frame that we have already created in our heads, we will have enough time to make the adjustments. Since our topic here is Spontane Street Photography, we don't have enough time. Punctuality and timing should be the most important thing for us.
- So if we want to be fast, we make some settingsfor our cameras;
The settings here can be different for everyone; it can also vary depending on the effect you want to give. Let me tell you the settings, which is my suggestion:
If we're shooting outside at noon on a sunny day. If the camera we use is a Full Frame sensor body, set the aperture to priority (set it to A or Av) to f / 11. You can also change the upper limit to a maximum of 3200 by putting the ISO value in automatic mode. Set the focus job to the Manual setting to Hyperfocal Distance.
If you have a Micro Four Thirds machine with APS-C (1.5x) or 2x multiplier, your job is a bit easier. In this case, you can set the upper limit of ISO value to 1600 by setting it to f / 8 in automatic mode.
- In Spontaneous Street Photography, the subject of permission may be tingling with your mind. The photos you took before may be in different styles. You may be chatting with the person or even getting permission before taking the photo. But forget these when taking Spontaneous street photography. If you do these, you are considered to have intervened in the photo. This is against the spirit of the moment photo.
If you are confused about this issue, you can apply the following method for the solution, which I think is the most ideal. Take the photo without any notification. Then make him notice you, take a photo again or pretend to take it and ask for permission. If necessary, chat. Thus, you will both take your photo in accordance with the spirit of the moment and get permission from the person, you will be comfortable.
Unfortunately, if you are confused and unable to do it this way, your chances of doing Spontaneous Street Photography are unfortunately quite low.
